A question of my test a couple days ago is asking that Calcium "something" compound reacts with HCl and forms CO2, find the "something" I don't know the answer but everything I know was that Ca__ + HCl = ______ + CO2 the left side clearly lacked Carbon and Oxygen, so I came up with the answer CaCO3 because Calcium Carbonate was heavily mentioned throughout the chapter

As when metal carbonate (CA CO3)react with acid (HCL)it produces salt(CACL2), carbon dioxide(CO2) and water(H2O) ,CACO3+HCL-->CACL2+CO2+H2O , that means the question in your exam wasn't CA__+2HCL-->___+CO2. it is missing H2O at the end , hope you understood something from what i wrote😂😂
