I use a carbonator cap with a pepsi quick disconnect, hose and CO2 cylinder with regulator. I can carbonate anything including fruit like seedless grapes with a modified inline water filter case. The carbonator cap screws onto any regular soda bottle and adding CO2 to cold juices etc. holding them upside down and shaking them so the CO2 gets absorbed well. I push the valve in a bit on the cap to release some of the pressure and unscrew the carbonstor caps usually about a minute after carbonating with no mess. I have a sodastream as well but find it messy like you do. Thanks for the video, well done!

Do you have to fill the bottle that much? Can you fill less so it won't explore as much?
@EverythingPractical9 ай бұрын
You should always fill to the line to have the CO2 injected to the water. This is the point where the injector is submerged. Otherwise, the CO2 just blows onto the water/liquid and it isn't as bubbly.

Can anyone explain why using anything except plain water makes a mess? And or why other brand machines allow you to carbonate any liquid
@EverythingPractical Жыл бұрын
I believe it has to do with the seal of the machine not being very tight. I am unfortunately notnsure if it is all of the OneTouch models, or just mine. However, the same chemical reaction will happen with other brand devices, so you still need to be cautious when using them not to release the bottle too soon.

If you *wait* until the bottle clears completely, wait an extra few seconds, then carefully release the bottle, you will not have a mess. I have fizzed up gallons of pure apple juice without a single spill. This costs us around $1:00 per litre against $3:30 to $4:10 for the Sparkling Apple juices at the supermarket. So there... @@EverythingPractical So, this indicates to me that you don't have even the most basic skills with Sodastream. A video? From me? Yeah, well, I might just do that - one day.
@EverythingPractical Жыл бұрын
Check yourself, bud. The "most basic skills" are to use the machine as intended and carbonate water. Obviously, that's not an issue. If you want to use the machine for an extended period to carbonate something by slowly adding carbonation to not end up with a mess, go for it. People want the simplicity of the machine to work the same as with water as for other beverages, and it doesn't. It seems you missed the clear purpose of the video, which is to use the machine exactly as you would when using it when carbonating water but with many different liquids. There is also a bit of humor in this video, which I think you missed as well... So get your comments straight. If you want to do a "better" video, then do it! No one likes a troll, especially when they're wrong. If it's your calendar, Happy New Year and all the best for 2023!
