Always get the feeling that Paul Simonon could get pissed of at any second and smash it all up with his bass... maybe just echos of the past :-)

Saw them twice on this tour & they were brilliant, totally brilliant. Being too young first time round I was so buzzed to see half of The Clash playing live on stage. I hate stadium gigs usually but the 2nd time I saw them at the 02 was one of the best gigs I've ever seen. Especially Clint Eastwood... coming full circle from Radio Clash & Mag 7 they totally belonged up on that stage with young UK rappers

Clint Eastwood is an excellent track.bI really appreciate the effort and Collaboration of all the Great Musicians and Vocals! It's March 2022 and I still appreciate this track. Thank you for uploading this live version. It's even more relevant because of The Former Clash Members. Thank you so much

I got to meet the band after the concert in San Diego. And the lady who helped me take my picture said I one of the guy's autograph I got was one of the most famous punk rockers. I just thought Paul Simonon was just a bassist for the Gorillaz, but I never knew he had so much history behind him. Especially now I know he's the guy who's in the bass smashing picture. Damn, I wonder how much my autograph is worth.

It's harder to play soft and slow than loud and fast. Try playing some old Ray Charles. At least from a bass playing standpoint, you have to be 100% on time, 0 mistakes, and not even a little out of tune. You have to be exact, something which most players can't do. However, those guys in punk have a wider influence than you'd think. Paul Simonon plays bass in a very reggae like way, instead of going bummm bummm, he'll go bum bumbadumba bummmm. He is unusual for a punk player.

No Gorillaz, Carbon Silicon or the Good the Bad & the Queen in 2017, in 2018, in 2019... OMG 2/3 of a smashing frontline of the best rocking band is playing (back) now those freaking tunes!!! 2 conclusions for me: punk IS dead and "musical evolution" sucks... SWITCHING TO PETER & THE TEST TUBE BABIES INSTEAD WITH 2020s VERSION OF "MANIAC"

So sad to see the composers of CAREER OPPORTUNITIES, 1977, WHITE RIOT and others trying to dance to that stupid lame soft music... Joe is rolling in his grave??? Nah, he's probably proudly checking a 70 year old Charlie and his Subs that still ROCK today !!!
@thomasandersen67194 жыл бұрын
I think Joe is digging this up in heaven with a big smile on his face....People change and times change, music changes...if Jones and Simonon pretended to be punks at 60+ it would be sad.... As for Charlie Harper don't mention that band wagon clown in the same sentence as Jones and Simonon...A former hairdresser who suddenly got into punk aged 33 in 1977 after having played in folk R &B bands in the 1964! He was already 15 years too old when UK Subs started...He was born during WW2...he is 76 years old...some people grow old gracefully and some do not

Huh? I grew up with the Clash, the Pistols, California punk...the world has gone politically dumb and this effort by one of the most political bands in history is embarrassing. Strummer is rolling in his grave, pass the Prozac. Will the last alpha male in Europe turn out the lights when he leaves!
@zacharymorin56967 жыл бұрын
TahoeBilly2007 Dude, the Gorillaz are actually good though. Trust me, I don't like any other rap or hip-hop, but The Gorilla really are a genuinely good band, and maybe it's because they do incorporate other genres such as rock, which is part of the reason why they're so awesome. And The Clash sew absolutely amazing too. I've liked them longer and they're more of the type of music I generally like. I just bought the Combat Rock vinyl the other day
