Your numbers aren’t high because you’re not eating carbs but that doesn’t mean you aren’t diabetic….what would happen if you ate a large carb meal suddenly? How much would you spike? How quickly would you come down from your spike? Those are the real measurements of “no longer diabetic”.

@@johnwaraich7648 T2D is the result of energy toxicity which is caused by overloading the cells with too much energy for a long time. This is caused by an overconsumption of both carbs and fat. Once someone is T2D then it would be smart to deplete the fat cells of energy (triglycerides), in other words, to lose fat. The best way to do that is to eat a diet low in both carbs and fats and high in protein while maintaining a slight caloric deficit and resistance training to minimize muscle loss.

I have all my weight-loss clients using your APP. My brother used it to help his IBS and SIBO low carb (70g max) . LC is his disease management tool. I guide to 50g but start clients on 75g. I avoid below 20g, I find it too difficult and not sustainable. The visual portion sizes are excellent. I am a weight-loss nutritionist and your APP have improved my results with clients hugely. Thank you.

Just a shame that still pushing the nutrition dogma and basically the Unwell Plate which has been in place during the massive rise in obesity and diabetes. I would be surprised if anyone on a low carb diet would consider anything like 130g to be low.

Can you please mention in a future video (maybe the low carb one) that for diabetics on insulin or oral meds that may cause hypos - they should work with their health care professional about making changes to their carbohydrate intake? For anyone who doesn't completely understand the role of their insulin/ medication who greatly reduces their carb intake without medication adjustments they are at risk for hypos. I think 1) it is a bit fast and 2) the background music may be quite distracting. If we assume some people have hardly any understanding of the CHO, the speed of the video may be a bit too fast, but 3) the positive is the video can be paused and re-winded. 4) 3 min 41 sec: what is the food in the top left corner - it looks like a toffee fudge???? 5) 2min 29sec: you gave an example of the very popular 'lunch', however maybe the crisps could be replaced with something containing less salt and SFA (just a suggestion to make people think about the taste vs health)? 'The crisps component' of lunch seems to be the problem of the whole nation. =/

I am so disappointed by this video and I actually feel sick! The idea of eating the 250g meal plan is horrific to me. I was never diabetic and discovered eating low carb healthy fat (LCHF/KETO) initially as a solution to my lifelong battle with being in the overweight BMI category. The benefits I gained were so much more. Now a health coach, I like to experiment on myself and am currently trialing a continuous glucose monitor to see for real what impact various foods have on my blood sugar and how quickly the spike is corrected. I am not brave enough to eat your 'ideal' meal to fully test it! No wonder we still have so much diabetes and people really not realising they can reverse it and come off their invasive drugs if this is the advice they are given to follow. Such a shame, as I really like the counter book and encourage my clients to get a copy. 😔

Thanks again (and also for recommending the book to clients!) and have a relaxing weekend! 😀

Hi Lucy. I have digestive issues. Unfortunately, the advice for me was to eat a diet that still incorporated the recommended daily amount of carbs. This does not suit me. A lower carb approach does. It’s true one approach does not fit all. I so wish the old fashioned eat well plate could be adapted. There is so much new evidence that allows fat in the diet and that lower fat products can sometimes have too much sugar added which is worse for our bodies. I would love to do a course in nutrition and coaching. Which one did you do.? Thanks

Hi Michael. Great if low carb works for you, but in practice many people find it very hard to stick with very low carb intakes. Here is a recent systematic review which gives evidence for this: onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/abs/10.1111/dme.13862 On a population-wide basis, for people without diabetes the guidance is to have around 50% energy from carbs: assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/445503/SACN_Carbohydrates_and_Health.pdf This is not to say some people don't benefit from low carb, of course. Unlike fats and proteins, there are no "essential" carbohydrates. Therefore our daily intake can be as low as 0g carbohydrates. Our body meets its own glucose needs through gluconeogenesis. I'm disappointed that this video seems to promote the consumption of processed starchy food rather than real whole foods. The promotion of eggs, meat, fish and poultry, accompanied by leafy green vegetables would be much better advice in the prevention and control of diabetes.

Shouldn't make bold statements like that for every body..! I have diabetes. I've never been particularly over weight, or even liked the taste of sugar and I have always eaten very healthily....But mine is TYPE 1 diabetes and if I dont eat a reasonable (and known) amount of carbohydrate regularly each day then I constantly run the risk of dipping into hypoglycaemia at the slightest extra exertion, physical or even mental. Balancing food intake and activity with a continuously variable self administrered insulin dosing is quite exasperting 24/7/365 to say the least. Like many ohers I expect, the C&C app is always at my side on my mobile as a helpful guide when meal carb content is unclear. If I were to attempt a 0 carb lifestyle I expect I would spend most of it in A&E in diabetic coma or serious ill with ketoacidosis.. One size doesn't fit all so for me carbohydrates are essential.. but like all thing balance and moderation.
