I'm 50 and in menopause. Massive cravings and a huge belly. I've been trying all your advice since May. I've lost 3 kilos (from almost 60 I now weigh 56,7), belly has shrunk, feel great. No sugar, no bread, no pasta, intermittent fasting, lots of salad and fruit. It was difficult at first, but now I I don't feel hungry at all. Summer helps to build a diet plan which you can follow easily later. It has changed my life. I feel so lucky I've discovered your channel. Thank you.

Low. Very low carb WORKS If you have only a few kilos 5-10 to lose as I did SLOW DOWN. Especially if older. Weight comes off SO FAST and tho impressed with scale. You won't like what it does to skin I was 59kl.wanted to be 54kl. I dropped to 43kl in 2 weeks .... Battle to get back to 50kl. I can't put weight on... At gym putting on muscle now. Eat more protein. Real protein not just shakes... I'm 74 and looking good now. Could have been easier if I'd done 50carbs not 20... This Dr is one to listen to. She's balanced and low carb not keto. TY Dr Hope this helps anyone confused about *what to do*

It’s crazy how one Dr will say eat Carnivore to live healthy and a different Dr says go Vegetarian to live healthy and reading comments in both they all have tons of people supporting both ways. Man it is hard to know which way to go

I did vegetarian for a bit but didn't lose much and never felt very good, I now do Keto with lots of veggies. Best I've felt in a long time and the weight is coming off well. Diabetes in remission. Try clean Keto with lots of veggies and see how you feel after the 1st month, by then you will know of it's for you or not. Just make sure to use Electrolytes like LMNT if you do it.

I do a modified Mediterranean diet. But my biggest problem with weight loss and keeping it off is making sure I'm averaging 7 1/2 hours of sleep each night (not getting enough sleep lowers my will power and encourages late night snacking). I think Hashimotos plays a role in that too, but I manage that. So, I think it is mainly the sleep deprivation. There can be so many different things that cause a person to not have a healthy body weight!

I am so glad I discovered your videos. It is easier when you have a plan, and you make great sense of how to get a plan in place. I started a couple of weeks ago on the intermittent fasting, first the 14:10, now this week I started the 16:8 and it really isn’t much of a difference. I went on vacation and went off a little bit, but was able to get right back on when I got home. Normally, that would take me another 3 days to get back on track. I feel better, have started dropping some weight, and have noticed the energy I have now. Also, the newsletters, or emails I received periodically helps too. Thank you. I have a way to go, but now it doesn’t feel so daunting.

Thank you for another great video. This is more a change of eating than a diet and consists of legitimising eating quality foods rather than lower quality fast foods or foods that are "bulked" with carbohydrates and /or sugars. We don't really need those carbs or sugars. Some years ago, when I was about 30 years old, I had an inkling that eating bread made me put on weight and also gave me joint cramps and stiffness. Now I am 70 and was inspired to control my glucose in retirement, by a chance remark about my blood tests from adverse effects after the pandemic. I did not at any time have covid. By measuring my blood glucose I was surprised how much bread actually spikes my blood glucose. I have tracked my blood glucose since February to July 23 and this has educated me about how my body responds to different foods. From being almost pre- diabetic with values 6.1 - 8.3 (doctors comment) I now have values of 4.5 - 6.7 mg/dl . Most valuable is knowing what foods keep the levels stable. Thanks again for these videos.

I did great on my low carb high protein diet. I lost 72 pounds. I just have 40 more pounds to lose. I went through hip replacement, went through complications of struggling to eat anything to gorging from 6 weeks of starvation. Now, it's been 5 months of trying to restart my diet. AND I can't remember how I ate before, and I can't get restarted again. I'm ready to give up!! JUST 40 MORE POUNDS TO LOSE! Your videos offer some great ideas I will try. Thank you!!

I use olive oil and vinegar for my salad dressing base then I add two tsp. of COD liver oil with one tsp of squeezed lemon juice. I understand this dressing would not be for everyone however for me it makes taking COD liver oil less of a problem than taking it right out of the bottle.

Holy basil Seeds and Chia seeds help lower blood sugar and blood pressure. Holy basil seeds also help with inflammation that some may feel when using Chia seeds. In the morning, lunch or snack you can soak 1 tablespoon of holy basil seeds in water or sugar free liquid for 10 minutes. Then add to sugar free Greek yogurt and berries. You feel full longer with the high fiber, protein and fat. It adds in lower sugar, pressure and gut health.

Just as food for thought-food manufacturers separate out the different sweeteners they add to food on the label, food labels go in order from most to least based on weight. So if all the sugars were lumped together they may be the top ingredient but if separated out they fall lower on the list. Look for anything ending in -ose those are some of the many sweeteners out there.

What amazes me, there are so many chiropractors that are launch these Keto, low carb nutritional programs. Some of them actually went beyond the chiropractor degrees and actually took courses or got degrees on nutrition. I think most of them are riding on each others coat tails, and they are not telling us anything we can't find out on our own. Keto is Keto, Low carb is low carb, low calorie is low calorie, you do not have to pay some one to tell you this. I am wondering what Dr Beckie and hubby have actually researched about nutrition? I feel that many chiropractors just need the extra cash!

Dr. Becky Can you help me understand what i might be doing wrong. Im 43 years old male 5,9 at 230lb . About a month ago i decided that i want to go down to my 180lb and as a Carnivore it was easy decision to go on KETO again ( i did it once few years ago ,it worked but then i let myself go and ... back to square one ) for about a 10 days i ate pretty much nothing (i wanted to reduce the size of my gut) . i was able to push through and got my ketones to very high level. Now im eating only ONCE a day ,and its usually home grown veggies from garden and some meat (no pasta ,bread ,potatoes etc... ) i dont think my calorie input is more than a 700 a day , I have been doing it already for a month but i cant see any movement on the scale . My daily food is , one big cup of coffee with some heavy cream, 2L of carbonated water ,big cup of green tea and a meal at the end of the day. WHAT COULD I BE DOING WRONG.

Love this! And finally, someone that talks and gives voice to what a person should eat vs stay away from and how to do it with intermitted fasting the easy simple basic brief, and clear not with all the long explanations, jargon, and grey areas. I LOVE THIS! 👏👏👏👏I can now get started! Thanx so much Dr. Becky G!🌹😊 PS... However, I was wondering where the "coupon code" was since I'm getting the "“Keto Challenge Annual” for now and will sign up for more later when I get back. Thanx so much Dr. Becky G!

Can I ask what else can I eat at Breakfast? Being type 2 diabetic I eat breakfast early and lunch usually at 1:30 after work. I bought those Paleo sticks and can I have those in between?

I have been intermittently fasting for almost a year now with keto! My last physical showed my cholesterol had gone through the roof! Suggestions please!

It's a shame no one has addressed this. You're not the first person to have this issue. There must be a modified variation of keto to address this!

Dr Becky how can I eat high sugar foods for special occasions and not blow my diet? If I eat a piece of cake on my birthday have I screwed up my metabolism?

If i really need a sweet snack, I will sneak in something Atkins. Or some new carb-friendly ice cream. But only because I don't want the attention or questions at a birthday party. I give myself a day and I am always back in ketosis. I have been faithful since Easter 2021. Give yourself a good couple months of Keto, and one meal or snack isnt going to hurt anything. I like to watch my calories per week, not per day.

You'll find that the longer you are strictly away from sugar, the easier it will be to have an occasional treat without feeling drawn back to a sugar habit. For most people a month or two is needed to reach this level of control.
