The real standout of this game is Carlos, in terms of improvements from the original. OG Carlos was a pretty forgettable and annoying character for me, but new Carlos has much more personality, he's deliberately corny, his observations are funny, and you genuinely like him right away.

The real monster here is jill who had a monster lay eggs in her gut then threw them up and walked it off, fell off and through several buildings, and constantly tanked direct hits from nemesis as well as numerous explosions. If it weren't for plot armor she would have died at the start of the game.

I think the first escape of the apartment was maybe survivable (just lots and lots of luck and massive bruising) but the drive off the roof in the car? Of course that's not explaining how she survived all the times where he grabs her head and doesn't pop it like a grape, or why his rocket launcher seems to not do anything at all... I would bring up the part where she shoots the Rail Gun (which is bigger than she is) and the recoil literally cracks the concrete beneath her and she is somehow still standing but that's after she gets infected so we'll give that a pass.

Actually one of the files revealed that Jill might have the antibodies to the virus in her system, which may be an indication that Jill had been somehow enhanced after the Mansion incident. But we all know that after RE3 Jill is immune to (at least) the T-virus and in RE5 Jill is enhanced with (probably) Uroboros.

I wish i picked Hardcore first run. Standard was to easy. I thought hardcore would be as hard as RE2 hardcore, where one hit = danger and you have finite saves. Hardcore in this game = RE2 normal imo. They should have named it differently, since when i see hardcore i assume hardest. But its 2 harder difficulties and Nightmare which i currently play, is also easier than RE2 hardcore. We will see when i get to inferno.

Everything was going pretty smooth until Carlos had to fight off the swarm of zombies at the hospital. For me, that was when the run went to shit. I’m finally at the last boss and I’m still struggling. Can’t wait til it’s finally over!

I died a total of 96 times on hardcore in a blind play through because of that bullshit Nemesis fight near the clock tower due to the fact I didn’t have much ammo and didn’t know if I was damaging him or not. Not to mention the fact I sucked at dodging....but the rest of the bosses were ok.

I didn't even know Carlos really did anything other than point out zombies/Nemesis' location. I also didn't know you could shoot the red panels to electrocute him though, so I wouldn't take my word as law : / On one of my attempts on the final boss, I was able to push in two batteries before he got back up and could insta kill me. It's definitely risky though, and I was only able to pull it off the one time.

I only just finished my first play through. Carci’s video is the first thing I came to! I also got the two batteries on the final boss, so it’s definitely possible. Honestly, I felt as though the timing was lenient enough to reliably do it, but I only tried the once so don’t take my word for law either!

On standard difficulty I could push two batteries but on hardcore he starts getting up before you finish pushing one.

@@recordingstudiotech The one time I did it was on hardcore. Since then I was able to reproduce it on hardcore, haven't tried Nightmare/Inferno. He does start to get up, but you've still got time to finish pushing the second one in before he can kill you. The most reliable way I've found to do it is by popping the last bulb right next to the battery closest to him (on the right). Once you're done pushing that one in, you still have time to push in the second one on the right. I prefer to get the left most battery first, then push in the two on the right, because pushing the second battery in has him start his glowing animation, giving you time to grab the railgun and end the fight after only dealing with 2 phases.

@@madmark7191 Remake 1 was the only great one, re7 was repetitive as fuck and enemies boring an unimaginative (bosses were good,though), remake 2...where every scenario can stand on it's own...the fact that there's no palpable connections between the scenarios and the bosses, locations and puzzles are mostly recycled is what holds it back imo. Remakes are an opportunity to expand on the source material not to trim down.

Although as a remake Capcom had all the freedom to rewrite the story, imho I do think some parts of the original should've been kept, perhaps for nostalgia's sake. 1. Brad should have been killed by Nemesis, not just normal zombies. Nemesis was hunting after both S.T.A.R.S. members, not just Jill. The way Nemesis suddenly pops into view in the orginal made me love that game to this day ("JILL! HELP! NOOO!!!" -Brad). 2. In the original, Nicholai wasn't a hate-able character from the start, and even after Jill sort of knew his plans, they were still able to have a "polite" conversation (in the shack before fighting the Gravedigger). Here I would love to see how Jill's detective work would slowly uncover his true motives. 3. Nemesis in the original version only changed dramatically after falling into the acid pool (Nemesis with tentacles battling Carlos when returning from the hospital still resembles human form). Here he was more sort of a giant-licker-type monster, only without the tongue. Love your run anyway Carci. Stay safe.

Its the same in RE2make and while dynamic difficulty is nothing new to the series, it really felt outta place in both RE2make and RE3make. I enjoy both games but thats one element I do wish could either be toggled or reserved for a specific difficulty.
