Hearing Carci mention how important audio was for the run made me very proud to play a tiny part in such a major GDQ moment, as the audio tech for the run setup. WTG Carci!!!

Little unsolicited tech crew protip that may help you earn brownie points in the future: if it's an HDMI game console, make sure their audio output is set to Stereo and not 5.1.

​@@emeraldaly7646 well if it outputs 5.1 or 7.1 when the mixer hardware is set to receive stereo (all twitch streams are 2 channel) then those extra audio channels will not be output to the mixer and there will be missing audio. such a thing happened on Jaguar King's MGS2 run some number of years ago and I figured out that the problem was the surround sound before Power Up did because I ran into that problem when troubleshooting my own HDMI capture.

Ohh this guy. His RE7 run in gdq a years ago was a pretty big influence to me. It was one of the first few speedruns that captivated me, as well as heightening my interest into horror games, with RE7 being one of my absolute favorites. Amazing job by him here.

I was going through a rough time in my life the last time Carcinogen ran at GDQ. I watched the VOD of his RE7 run over and over again back then. I have a lot of fond memories attached to it. Seeing him return to GDQ and absolutely kill it on stage like this is incredible. So glad I got to see this happen live, and so happy for him.

I don't think many people understand why this is huge. One could say "Well, what's the fuss all about? His channel is filled to the brim of RE2R Hardcore no damage runs" and one could answer "yes, it's true" but here's where the amazing part comes into play: each and every one of those runs are made in post commentary, which means that Carci played the game FIRST, with his own setup, the needed peace and quiet and had all the time in this world to concentrate (many of those runs are even segmented to begin with). But here he's playing surrounded by people, with distractions from both the crowd and the people on the couch... and I can assure you that talking while playing takes away A LOT of the needed concentration for a run such as this. This is why this is monumental

Man the last time I watched Carci for hours he was trying the RE4 Remake no damage runs and I was seriously worried for his mental health. Some time later he stated how bad he found the game and that he would not play it anymore. Then I watch this and Carci is so goddamn full of joy and energy!
