Outstanding review. This system seems pretty good, although personally, I strongly prefer physical knobs for HVAC controls. Although, I have to give Volvo credit for allowing users to permanently disable the auto start/stop. Not many manufacturers allow that!

You can use the voice control instead (one button on steering wheel); probably best.

Isn't it annoying and complicated to control everything from a single touch screen? I am planning to get an XC40 but have doubts about the infotainment screen. It would be better to have some physical buttons here and there and some control buttons on the steering wheel.

My 2020 XC60 Momentum T5 has the basic radio and does not have all of the options that you showed. Does the video show an upgraded model?

If you come too close to an object while manouvring, the screen automaticly shows the parking sensors. Is it possible to set it up so the 360 camera's show up instead of those stupid parking sensors?

I have a V60 PHEV which is great but I have reservations about the infotainment system in the amount of touching and swiping for control of so many basic functions. Unless this is done with voice control it is clearly dangerous to be spending so much attention on the screen when on the move. The system in my previous Audi which used a control wheel was better in this regard.

I bought one of these for my wife in 2017. In 36k miles I've had to repair under warranty the following: 2 headlights due to moisture, all brake pads and rotors on three separate occasions (soon to be 4 times as the issue persists), wiper blade control lever, hvac vent cleaning for mold/smell, hood latch under the dashboard and I know I'm forgetting a few other things. I'll edit this post when I check my records, but my point is that this new xc90 has severe flaws in its components and I'll be getting rid of it as soon as warranty expires. Not sure if I got a lemon or some early model/generation woes but I've never owned a brand new vehicle that has spent at least 100 days at the dealership for warranty repairs. Oh and volvo corporate, when contacted, said that my xc90 service history is not atypical from other owners and that they can't help me with anything such as a customer trade in assistance so that we can move on to a more reliable Volvo. Although we love the design of Volvo I think this will be our last one.

Very helpful review to me as I am considering purchase of a 2019 Volvo. Have you confirmed that the auto start-start setting is “latched” and does not reset to the “on” position upon the next startup of the car?

You can setup your individual drive mode to keep the start/stop function to stay off everytime you start the car

Looking at a 2017 Audi A4 with 26k miles vs a 2020 Volvo with 15k miles. The Audi is cheaper by a little bit and the handling is supposedly better. Any insights on which way I should go or have any other good options?

Go with the Volvo, the Audi WILL break in an expensive way. Trust me, I’ve owned many German cars and they all hurt my wallet. Volvo is the only brand I’ve owned and said ‘this feels like it would last a lifetime’. I drove my 2012 S60 1600 miles from Manchester UK to Murcia Spain, in 2 days when it was new, it never missed a beat. 10 days later it drove 1600 miles back home.

Looks like very little has changed in the menu systems since the previous version. My understanding is the firmware has been updated and is less prone to crashing... is this true? I tested a XC60 T8 3 months ago. My major concern (and my wife) was adjusting the temperature while driving. Salesman shown us how to do it before we went for a drive. When we tried it on the move, the system froze TWICE. Needless to say, we did not order the car. I love to XC60/90, but I feel (like many, many others), that climate should be buttons/knobs - like Lexus/Mercedes are still doing.

While I haven't had the privilege to live with any of the new 2019 Volvo's, I can say that the system was much more stable in our 6 hours with an XC60/90. The hardware is more power to help ward off as many performance issues. Thanks for watching!

in my '17 V90, I just tell the car to change or set the temperatures. No need to take eyes off road. This also works for the seat and steering wheel heaters.

5 stars video, but I am still not sold on this "tablet" thing. XC90, Q7 or Touareg? The best vehicles would be one with the X90 Exterior, Q7 Technology and Touareg dashboard.

Have you ever heard of voice commands? Besides I can't see that it should be that much more safer to use a knop and turn it to choose what you want from the system while you are driving because you still have to look at the screen to see what you choose.

It also has lane keep assist to stop you veering into oncoming traffic. Or lane departure warning. If you still need more assistance, you should probably just hand in your licence and stay off the road

Helpful information, but the "background" music is distracting. Music for an instructional video is inappropriate because it results in the viewer losing focus on the instructional content. It would also help to limit the hand gestures - these also distract the viewer's attention. Otherwise, good video, thank you.

TSTESTE P Wi-Fi network must be WPA2 encryption to connect with your Volvo car.

I have a 2019 XC60, everything except the adaptive cruise control. All the Sensus stuff works fine. But my Canadian spec car has Gracenote controlling music on a USB drive. Almost enough to make me return the car and get my old Audi back. Totally hopeless as a way of organizing music...worst thing for me...it really has no concept of jazz.

Wish you started with "Language!" I'm going through the manual, and it's not "Like my Apple" to find and change the basic language. Until that's set the rest of the screens are in a foreign language... So this video isn't that helpful. Also (if you make other video's) try to stop saying "Just touch this" as to the newbie it's not clear what "this" is?

Are you kidding Volvo a touchscreen to adjust the fan ,what was wrong with the old switches & dials ,more to go wrong I suppose It’s already a nightmare with people on there phones ,how can this be safe ,fucking about with a touchscreen while driving Volvo is no longer safe ,I drove a XC90 with this and had to pull over to adjust the fan to stop the windscreen misting up Not cool Volvo I have bought volvos for the last 25 years ,but I would not have one of these given me Yes I can here people say it has voice control ,but it doesn’t work with every accent Sorry to complicated My last seven cars newest first XC60 (2016) XC60 (2010) XC90 (2005) 850 760 240. 340 My next car ?
