We have this exact car/color combination. Took delivery in October. I have never been stopped in the parking lot so many times by people admiring my car. So that’s the fun part, and we enjoy how it drives. Two disappointments: the open pore wood in the cabin has a cheap finish to it and there is already a small divet on the driver’s side we’ve had to address. Also, a couple of weeks after we got the car, the air suspension went out. It turned out to be a faulty computer board that had to be replaced, but we were without it for over a week. Our dealer said they’d never encountered that problem before. All good now though.

I bought my 2025 mdx on Christmas Eve and noticed a suspension error display on the dash last night. It only displayed for about a minute but then disappeared. Not sure if this is a symptom of a bigger problem or not. Other than that, I absolutely love this mdx!

I have had my new 2025 Acura MDX Type S Advance for a couple weeks. This SUV is perfect for my needs. Great size, roomy, excellent handling and acceleration. No problems merging into traffic on expressway and turnpike. Turning corners in the city is outstanding for a vehicle this size. Premium gas is optional not required. I use regular gas in the city and premium gas when taking long trips via the turnpike. The massage feature (driver and front passenger side) is awesome especially for those with lower back problems. I purchased the black exterior with a black interior. It looks elegant and attracts a lot of attention. Lastly, the infotainment center is excellent and connectivity is seamless. You can connect other devices to the built-in WiFi which my son loves for his iPad.

Damn I didnt know you can use regular gas for the type s. How does it drive with regular gas?? You may void your warranty as it is required to use premium instead of regular.

You should always use premium 91 octane or more fuel in the MDX. Reason being is they have Direct Injection technology which cleans the injectors to reduce carbon buildup. Overtime regular / special unleaded fuel will produce carbon buildup which will lessen the performance of the engine.

@@f50koenigg The drive feels the same. It was the Acura dealership who told me regular gas was fine to use for city driving. Not sure it is connected, I averaged slightly better gas mileage on my long turnpike drives (20 mpg).

This is where the Nissan Merger is going to come in handy. They already have a tried and true large vehicle in the Armada that’s well built and reliable. Maybe helps Honda/ Acura compete with platform sharing

Then they need to leave the Armada under Nissan and not try to sell the same thing with a Honda logo on it, badge engineering. I really don’t see what Nissan has that would benefit Honda. They do make reliable engines,their build quality is good and I like their stying inside and out. But the same can be said of Honda. Honda also has a great Hybrid system where Nissan has none. Nissan does have EV experience with the Leaf but they didn’t evolve the technology and even a new Leaf is 10 year old tech. Nissan stubbornly sticking with their horrible CVT transmissions killed the company.

Fun fact, the MDX has never had a rear A/C unit. It has a massive evaporator that’s split, half for the front and half for the rear. When the rear system is turned on the big evaporator is fully utilized and it has more than enough capacity to absorb the heat from the cabin.

The noise level?? Wheels and tires, and the turbo runs a bit higher than the base engine. I'm guessing that if you test a new non-Type-S Advance model with 20" wheels and highway tires the levels will drop quite a bit. I know because I own one. :-)

I agree, though I would add to that list atrocious fuel economy. I opted for an X5 instead, for about another $7 grand. It’s certainly smaller and without the third row, but more fun to drive and in reality can get almost 30 MPG on road trips.

Riding in the back seat of a previous generation of the Pilot, in an uber, I also found it quite uncomfortable because of no feet room. I say this because I believe it's the same platform. Did Honda improve this in the new one? I'de balk at that vehicle as well as the new Passport if this hadn't been fixed.

Great car, but buyers beware, it has a huge stereo system, but nothing to listen to except FM and AM radio. No Sirius/XM available, no internal Nav. Honda/Acura cheaped out and have driven everything to your phone and only provide the interface. Traveling in rural areas will be an issue if you try to use the Sirius/XM and Nav apps with your phone. An aftermarket Sirius /XM converter is available online (welcome to 2005) for $500.00 plus install fees. Really unacceptable on Acura's part for a $70,000 plus automobile.
