I am Not A Scandinavian Viewer, but I do know that 1) Finland is generally considered part of Scandinavia and 2) Finland was controlled by the Russian empire for a chunk of history. So, depending on what the map is representing, it could be lumped with either it's natural territorial grouping or with its imperial overlord. That's my guess, anyhow.

I believe that thought you were looking for is that Italy was allied with Germany. Which they were for both world wars. Another gg. Can we expect some streaming this week?

Wednesday is looking most probably, and also Italy was an Ally member (starting in 1915) and was not allied with Germany in WWI, just WWII, as far as I can tell.

Finland is not a part of Scandinavia. That's only Sweden, Norway and Denmark. The word has the same root as the southern most part of Sweden so it could origin from that and then spread to the Scandinavian Peninsula. One other reason Finland is not part of Scandinavia is the language. Danish, Norwegian and Swedish is closely related. Finish is completely different. Both Finland and Iceland is part of the Nordic countries however which is a reason for the confusion of what is what. People don't really know the difference. /A Swedish viewer

Thank you sir. I know that parts of the peninsula include northern Finland so I wasn't sure where the line was drawn in terms of association. Some places consider it part, most don't, figured it was just easiest to ask the audience!

Probably a couple, I do think it can be a tad confusing with how similar some of the maps are
