That started on October 20, 1980, and it followed into the 1986-89 CBS Daytime and 1986-87 short-lived syndicated versions.

That is a variation of the losing horns from "The Price is Right". Those horns were used on another shortlived game show, "Double Dare" (1976-77). In the end game with the Spoilers, if the three Ph Ds got the answers right from the clues given by the contestant they won $100 apiece and the contestant lost, those horns would sound.

I enjoyed watching this video. However, I felt badly for mostly Walt and Bob while I liked lines such as "Why did you do that to me?", "That's my favorite charity BUST", and how Tom Kennedy made his own losing horns.

Can hear that NBC buzzer years later in Trebek's "Classic Concentration" with higher pitched losing horns in the car bonus round. A wrong guess on the puzzle also you only hear it solo.

@eyehatefarcebook116 жыл бұрын
Zachery Alderton Jim Perry and Bob Eubanks. If the 80's version was again on NBC instead of CBS. Alex Trebek may possibly have hosted it only if Classic Concentration wasn't developed. Another interesting factoid..."Double Dare" 1976-77 with Trebek had those TPIR losing horns with the spoilers. Same "Card Sharks" music too!

cutemimi25 I was the opposite, I hated the push rule. You bet the card was lower and a push isn’t lower. It might be mean, but part of the fun of game shows is watching people crash and burn.

I'm just the only one to admit it. Why was Press Your Luck so popular? Not because of people winning trips and money, but seeing people hit the Whammy. Drama makes for great TV. If the game wasn't aiming for drama, why would the last bet have a minimum of half your money?
