I read the book "Growing Up Brady" written by Barry Williams. In the book, he stated that Robert Reed hated doing the show because he was a trained Shakespearian trained actor. He was always butting heads with the producers and the head of the NBC network (I think that is the network the show was on) over the scripts. Berry even wrote that there were many times that Robert refused to be in some episodes because of the script and that Florence had to say his lines in addition to her own. Even though he hated doing the show, he treated the kids as if they were his own.

Your Hit Parade was a radio/music show that began in the 1935 and lasted until 1959. The show was also televised beginning in 1950. The players were hosts/singers on the show. It was extremely popular at the time. Frank Sinatra was a singer on the show for years. Thought I would give them a shout out. Seemed like a kind and vibrant group. They have all passed. RIP.

'..should _have_ changed..' '..would _have_ looked..' auxiliary("helper") verb for the past participle of the main verb *not* some ridiculously placed preposition, "of" in its stead. Also with regard to Olsen's hair - she grew to be somewhat homely and decrepit especially as she aged with her hair being one of her more youthfully enduring features . The last thing she needed or needs to do is succumb to the asinine peer-pressure of hacking it all off like so many aging women do - thinking that they must. The only time its a good thing is if the female has exceedingly thin hair to begin with or age-related thinning and cannot sustain a full head of decent locks . This has not been the case with Susan. And so when other females declare that they think someone like her should get the old lady chop or helmet-do these are typically the words of brainwashed or jealous woman @@alansnow1129

Yes things were very different then. I overlook it with Dawson, as he kissed the wrinkled grannies the same way he kissed the young ladies. I think he loved people. Richard Dawson actually got his start in 'game shows 'as a panelist on "The Match Game". And the 'flirting and innnuendo' was part of the fun "The Match Game", at least for me. There was a kind of loose, 'let's have fun with this!" attitude that permeated the show.

At 54 I still watch the Brady Bunch Sunday mornings on METV. With all the evil and corruption in the world its nice to escape it all and watch a show where family..love and morals/values reigned supreme. Season 1 is the best with so many classic episodes such as the camping trip, the payphone and carols voice xmas special. The cast was perfect..the music was iconic...the house is the ideal family home. Maureen and Susan grew up to be beautiful women we all know that. I often try to raise my son and give father son talks like Mike Bradys character. Robert Reeds portrayal of Mike Brady...the hardworking strong sturdy backbone of the Brady clan was absolutely brilliant and spot on. I often watch just to see how he handled certain situations. I wonder what they are doing with the HGTV Brady house that they remodeled a few years back.

Funny at 21:42 cindy Brady had the chance to open up the two groups to small conversation as the gentleman there next to her (on her right (our left)) was facing mildly in that direction. Instead, she shuns him and them and keeps the two groups in a separate conversation pretending to look over to her left twice (oddly). It's always best to engage and be friendly to open up conversation between the larger groups but instead a decision was made to shut that other group off due to unfamiliarity and perhaps shyness (hard to say why).
@funshine817
@funshine817 11 ай бұрын
I think you're reading to much into it. I do not think there was deliberate shunning nor do I think she single handedly kept the two groups apart. It is hard to believe you saw all that! 🤣😃 Super projecting.

Yes, it was odd. In agreement. Awkward. The guy to her right was open to conversation (break the ice) , just watch him, then she awkwardly turned her body toward Robert Reed and her Brady Bunch only, completely cordoning off the two groups. Spot on !!!

Doesn't look to me like she even noticed him. She was just looking at her cast members because she adores them and probably loved every minute of spending time together. She, especially, was so young doing the show. This really was her family.

Susan clearly looked shy and uncomfortable when the two teams met at the end. I noticed the awkward hugs with even her own team. The turning of the body is not necessarily rude, but just lacking confidence. Perhaps Florence should have been in the middle, she is much more social and receptive to others.

If you watch closely, Florence screws up her face when he kisses the others. Then with the "what puts you straight to sleep" question, he was hinting the answer to her I think! That way he got super close, looked her in the eyes (And her back) and said what puts YOU to sleep, as well as how he didn't flinch at the answer- it was more like a 'yes you got what I meant' too, AND how she said AFTER like defending that she doesn't fall asleep before... I bet anything that they had slept together!!!!!
