Now that's a New Year's gift. Thank you Memphis and happy new year. Fun Fact: The cards Rise of the Snake Deity, Snake Deity's Command and Vennominaga itself were nerfed when adapted in the anime for the physical game: Rise of the Snake Deity (Anime): The card can be triggered when the Vennominion is destroyed in any way, even by battle; Snake Deity's Command: You discard a "Venom" monster instead of revealing it; Vennominaga: Her last auto-win effect activates three turns after she dealt battle damage. I don't know if the cards were more faithful that would change anything, but it's cool to think about. Day 1098 waiting for NOT BROKEN support for Venom.

Venom does suck but I've always loved playing Venominon and Venominaga in a more general reptile deck. I've done many variants over the years. I've had a worm themed reptile deck back before Future Fusion was originally limited to one and even a bit past that. I ran a chaos hybrid with dark reptiles like Reptilianne some deck thinking worms and a few Chaos Sorcerer for the surprise backup strat. I had an alien synchro variant and during the XYZ era went hard with King of the Feral Imps. I've tried Ogdaoic hybrids but they honestly run so smooth on their own. Cards like snake rain and offerings to the snake dirty are always staples for the deck. A wild monster approaches was good to have a copy once it came out. Damage =Reptile is a classic but not nearly as useful as one would think anymore, especially with better ways to abuse Venominon's 0ATK/0DEF to pull striate from deck these days. Graveyard is also a great strat as it's easy to pace it with a copy of two and get him out with so many things. One that I feel is underated is the Viper's rebirth combo. I've never actually seen someone even use it so it's really confusing to me. It lets you special summon a non- tuner reptile from your GY as long as all monsters in it are reptile type. The catch is that it is destroyed at the end phase. From the release, art and some of the conditions, the point was for it to be used in Reptilianne decks to help synchro without being too broken. Here is the thing though, Venominon is not a tuber and you want him destroyed by effect anyway if you have Rise of the Snake Dirty set. Sure, Offerings to the Snake Dirty is the ideal, but it requires an extra set trap card. Even other cards that can be played immediately ARE still an extra card in addition to Rise, minon and what you used to get him out. The destruct effect is mandatory so it will go off at end phase, making it a little easier to pull off. Even if you don't have the trap set, it's a good way to get an insane beat stick out for even one turn as an OTK. It's not hard on the slightest to load up on reptiles in the grave so it really is a better version of the same strat using slider. Instead of what is limited in your hand as additional resources pumping up your boss for that one turn it is on the field, the many MANY more reptiles in grave will make him good to one hit KO. It's half the ATK boost per, but again, you can easily send Reptiles strait to grave from deck thanks to cards like Snake Rain. If you do also have Rise set, then you get Venominaga out going into your opponent's turn but it doesn't matter. They can go straight into defensive but play the deck right and you should more than catch up to whatever why put on field for a single stroke win. People say it is hard to get Venominaga out but I've done it plenty of times. The real challenge is winning by her alternate condition. By the time you get her out, you basically are one shotting your opponent with her when you get the opportunity. I have only ever pulled off her Hypervenom Win a very few times since playing a variety of that deck and it felt truely earned.

Sucks that I missed the premier. I had notifications on to catch it but I got busy right before it. Love the thumbnail. You know I got to try that vussy. Funny enough, Starving Venom Fusion Dragon isn't affected by the field spell.

Years ago, I wanted to play Venoms because they looked cool, but I found they cost too much for my 14 yo income for the meager output they'd provide, compared to Synchros and Volcanics. What definitely would have helped the archetype is if the counters themselves applied the attack reduction rather than the field spell. If they were to have gotten support, they'd have been better off just revamping the archetype almost entirely and devote efforts towards the Snake Deities.

@@otterfire4712 better counters wold absolutely benefited Venoms. All I'm hoping for in future support really is better use of the counters, and maybe a faster way to Vennominaga. Fingers crossed 🤞

Venoms are unplayable garbage. VENNOMINAGA though is a heavily slept on rogue tier deck under the exact perfect conditions. Right deck, right pilot, right meta. Trap tracks with vennominon on board is all you need to summon vennominaga. Trap tracks searches rise of the snake deity and let's you activate it same turn, but importantly, also makes you destroy a monster on board to use it. The key is however, trap tracks doesn't say "then" meaning the pop and set is simultaneous, and because rise is legal to activate same turn you have met the conditions. Modern vennominaga decks exploit bishbaalkin which let's you spam both fields with 0 attack tokens. This let's you get 5 free searches by using Bish and a token for haggard lizardose and then haggard lizardose and another token for reptilianne echidna. You use 1 of the 5 searches for coatl and because echidna is a dark reptile you can summon coatl for free and tune with 2 tokens for reptilianne hydra. That nukes your opponents tokens and let's you draw 5 Usually the deck aims to try to avoid echidna if possible because she reptile locks you, and both bishbaalkin and hydra are soft OPT so you can reset the combo with cards like daigusto emerald or ishizu shufflers and loop it until you draw everything you need to pull off the combo And the key here is all this is possible just by summoning bishbaalkin. And bishbaalkin can be summoned insanely easily through the ogdos and mitsurugis. More importantly though. Centurion primera, trudea, and the field spell ALL are 1 card full combo. Its a very unorthodox way to play centurions but if you have any of those 3 in your opening hand you have full combo so long as it isn't negated. If it is negated you can transition to summoning bishbaalkin through ogdos or mitaurugi

@@rk100_official bit harsh, but it's true that Venom as an archetype is desperate for some support. I actually tried out the Bishbaalkin version awhile ago: complex, but cool to watch in action!
