In the video you say that "each dApp on Polkadot will need its own parachain". This is wrong and a big misunderstanding. You are not supposed to have a whole parachain if you want to deploy a dApp. dApps will be deployd on parachains with smart contract functionality. Just like dApps will be deployed on one of the 64 shards in Ethereum 2.0. A parachain is a shard. You don't need a whole shard to deploy code.

@@AndresGarcia-pv5fe I think the stupid one is you. If you have been in crypto long enough as paul said the top 10 coins keep changing. BTC has been the only constant. Eth was actually flipped by xrp a while back for some time. There are always new shiny coins that come up every now and then. They are always faster with lower transaction fees than BTC but always fall away. BTC is king and will remain so. When the price of BTC goes down it drags the rest of the market with it. When BTC goes up most of the coins again follow the market leader. Most coins out there are scams! There is a reason why very serious investors trust BTC. Small timers are always looking for that next altcoin that will grow 100X quickly but ultimately end up getting rekt! If you have money to burn then by all means throw it at every shiny new altcoin, but if you want stability then there can only be one winner. Next time do your research instead of exposing your ignorance to the whole world!

I didnt fear it or hate it... but I used to be on the EOS train.... not because I thought its better long term, but simply because I thought they should be able to deliver working daps way faster than the rest, considering that its not as complex to build and not as decentralized. Apparently I was wrong in my practical thinking, and its the last attention Dan Larimer gets from me. I may get a small position of my portfolio in Cardano just because its so decentralized, it sounds ideal to me, Charles may not have some PHD ... but these days who cares, he is obviously way smarter than many people with PHD. As for making some money... well there are plenty of fish in the sea still, question is if I will make the right picks in the future, lots of issues that need solving and improving and decentralizing out there... thats for sure.

Cardano and the developers are doing things the right way, just look at the amount of research put into the project: iohk.io/en/research/library/ It's a slow and methodical project, too slow for some, and people want instant results unfortunately (most treat crypto like a get rich quick scheme). That said, there's not point in tribalism, tribalism is just bad for the industry as a whole. Decent projects can co-exist and tackle different problems. As an investor you should diversify. We should hope both projects are successful and that blockchain is adopted in the wider world. There's still a long way to go.

ADA's success is based on its marketing /social media and propensity to attractive naive investors due its seemingly low price point. Guy literally says this in this video . Staking on Daedalus or Yoroi isn't risky, it's so easy. And it's a max 20 days for first rewards (if you delegate right at the start of a given epoch).

Without watching the video my biggest alt coin holding is ADA. It’s the only crypto that tends to put the work in before actually launching and debugging. I actually dislike the kusama test net as it portrays a test it and try rather than perfecting it kinda attitude. Charles is running that ship a lot tighter in my opinion. His vision is very very clear and his staked percentage is absolutely crazy.

Polkadot has a staking minimum amount of 200 DOT. I only discovered that after a few weeks, wondering why I was getting 0 rewards. Cardano has a 10 ADA minimum to be able to stake.

the 2 layer chain on cardano sounds a little similar to loopring . the 100 limit of parachains on polkadot (limited by the O(N2) messaging) is not a problem - b/c they can have multiple relay chains and connect those relay chains .

Definitely DOT is my selection and winner. Strong team, fantastic developers and great community based on value and not on Fomo talks, like in the case of Cardano. Cardano is a not finished project with not proven technical results based on a community built by Hoskinson's KZbin talk. How can he even concentrate on technical work and leading the project if he is always talking on KZbin? It seems for me like a show for the masses. We will see if Cardano can prove something technically too in the future and who will adopt it at the end.

Dear Lord! Polkadot does not have a 100 limit on dapps, there are already numerous parachains with smart contract capabilities ie each of which can host unlimited number of daaps. The 100 refers to PARACHAINS (which is not a hard limit btw)

Ouroborous is open source on github... so any developer can use it... Polkadot simply took the parts of it they liked and enhanced it to work for them. There is no significance in it.
