Straight from the tube haha. I used cheap craft paint. I painted it purple and then a few layers of pink on top of it.

That's awesome! It's a great project to do together. You might need to resize it to fit a kid's head. Test it out by printing/taping together the 2 face template pieces to see if the eyes holes line up with his eyes. Just test it out with the paper pieces first. If the eyes line up and it doesn't look too big on him, you can do the cardboard.

How big is your head, because I don’t know if I have to size it down or just leave the mask the same size

I have a big head haha. I don't know the size but I wear XL and L baseball hats. Test it out. Tape together the 2 "face" parts of the template, just using paper ...see if it looks too big and if your eyes line up with the eye holes. That way you won't waste a lot of time if you end up needing to make it smaller.

Do you think that there would be a possibility that I could make it so the head strap could be adjusted for the size of anyone's head?

Absolutely. Obviously, it will depend on the size of the head, but the velcro will help fit different sizes. If you're worried about it, print out the face part first and see if the holes line up with your eyes and/or if it's too big. If it's too big, you can reduce the size when printing since it's a pdf file.

It's pretty sturdy as-is, but you could definitely add resin or paper mache if you wanted something more durable.
