Unlike Cheap ELITE i20, ford freestyle is the value for money car with its segment first features like auto dimming IRVM,auto wipers, floating touch screen, ESP, TRACTION CONTROL, HILL ASSIST, ARP, EBD,footwell ambient lighting, driver side vanity mirror on the sun shade, glove box light. Unlike cheap Elite i20 which doesn't offer any of the features I mentioned above, ford freestyle is the way to go.

Seriously feature loaded ! This is gonna be a real success and only thing is could have offered cruise control and projector headlights then it would have been a deal breaker for this price !and would have definitely killed the Swift , Baleno and Polo even i20 active to some extent. Please reply, is Honda Jazz Petrol Manual a good buy?
@cardekho6 жыл бұрын
+Kalyan Gautham Honda’s petrol motors are known for their refinement, and this one isn’t a whole lot different. It feels familiarly silent at idle and makes a likeable noise as you start wringing it. Don’t bother doing that too often, because the Jazz doesn’t really take well to being driven enthusiastically. Typical of i-VTEC engines, you need to go heavy on the accelerator if you want to make quick progress from a dead halt. Once the engine is in its mid-range, it feels reasonably peppy. That said, don’t expect to dart in and out of gaps in traffic in this one. This engine likes it when you take things slow.

I own Titanium + petrol and it's quite a wrong notion that Freestyle lacks space. It has ample space and 3 persons can seat comfortably... Music quality is superb. The AC is superb and cools instantly and one can run AC in all 3 modes simultaneously, the AC is so powerful that there is no need for rear AC. It doesn't feel it has 3 cylinders, the refinement is top notch. Only thing is that the interior quality could have been better but the amount of security features it provides along with top class infotainment, the interior is not a deal breaker. Far better than Maruti Tin Cans. And did I mention that steering feedback is awesome unlike the lifeless ones of Hyundai's..

Tata tiago XZ or Ford freestyle Trend petrol variant? Am fixed with these two, but confused which one to select. Am worried about the mileage in Freestyle? Does anyone know how much exactly it gives in city?
@cardekho6 жыл бұрын
+Multi WooD Tata Tiago XZ strikes the right chord between comfort and safety and is our recommended variant. It gets steering-mounted controls, driver seat height adjustment, auto-down on driver side window, cooled glovebox, alloy wheels, chrome garnish on front fog lamps and ORVM with LED turn indicator and boot lamp for added convenience. On the inside, you get body-coloured air vents (only with Sunburst Orange and Berry Red exterior shades), chrome finish on air vents and LED fuel & temperature gauge. It’s loaded up to the brim in the safety department as well and gets dual front airbags, ABS with EBD & corner stability control, front fog lamps, seatbelt with pretensioners & load limiters, rear defogger and rear smart wiper with wash. On the other hand, the Trend variant of the Freestyle gets all the important features that we expect from a sub-Rs 10 lakh hatchback. However, the additional goodies on offer do not justify the premium of Rs 90,000 over the base variant, especially when you consider that you can get most of these add-ons retrofitted at a much lower cost. Additionally, Freestyle generates 94.68bhp/120Nm whereas Tiago produce the output of 84bhp/114Nm which reflects better performance in comparison. Instead of trend, we would suggest you to go for the next variant in line i.e. Titanium (the value-for-money variant). You can also compare both the cars via our tool. Here's the link: bit.ly/2MApTTC In our fuel efficiency tests it returned a very impressive 19.19kmpl on the highway thanks to the tall gearing but in the city, where you need to make more gear changes to keep the engine in the sweet spot, that figure drops down to 13.5kmpl, which is still a reasonable figure for a petrol engine. Do take a test drive before making a final call.

I have read that Baleno has some issues like build quality and suspension issues even though it look stylish . Meanwhile any face-lift coming up for Baleno?
@cardekho6 жыл бұрын
+Mody Thomas Here, freestyle would be a better pick as Ford is always known to bring cars loaded with a best-in-class safety kit. The Ford Freestyle is no different and scores high on safety with six airbags, ABS with EBD (electronic brakeforce distribution), ESC (electronic stability control) and TCS (traction control system) along with ARP (active rollover prevention). Mature ride quality, the Freestyle practically absorbs the undulations better than the Figo/Aspire with improved damping. Its 190mm of ground clearance is adequate for both on and off road conditions. Freestyle delivers better power performance with both the engines diesel and petrol. Maruti Suzuki is set to launch the Baleno facelift in India by June 2019. The 2019 Baleno facelift will involve only minor cosmetic changes and there will be no changes to the powertrain, claims a source close to the development. What about highspeed stability and suspension feel at highspeeds ?
@cardekho6 жыл бұрын
+Dinesh R The Freestyle petrol took just over 13 seconds to complete the 0-100kmph sprint, which is par for the course. Since it’s got an odd number of cylinders, it is quite natural to expect some vibrations. Thankfully, it doesn’t have any, regardless of it missing a balancer shaft that keeps vibrations in check. At city speeds, the new 1.2-litre petrol motor doesn’t require frequent gear changes. It pulls cleanly in higher gears at low speed without any hiccups. During our test drive, we were able to negotiate speed breakers at just under 20kmph, which is a usual scenario in day-to-day driving, even in third gear quite effortlessly. If you need to put a smile on your face you have to work a little bit more. Being a small displacement, naturally aspirated engine, it has to be revved to extract the most out of it. Keep it in its sweet spot and the new engine won’t disappoint. It can also be pretty frugal when driven sedately, delivering 13.5kmpl in the city and 19.19kmpl on the highway. It’s also a very predictable engine and throws up no unpleasant surprises. Power is delivered consistently and in a tractable manner right upto the 7000rpm redline. As it has a ride height of 180mm, Ford has had to stiffen up the suspension setup and the anti-roll bar to ensure it doesn’t sway from side to side due to the relatively higher centre of gravity. The 30mm wider track (the distance between the two wheels mounted on the same axle) at the front and rear help improve stability and offers better cornering as well. The wider track also gives the Freestyle a better stance as the wheels jut out from its wells ever so slightly. The Freestyle’s brakes will do a good job of saving you from yourself. The car took 40.98 metres to go from 100-0kmph, lesser than the Maruti Swift, Maruti Ignis and Hyundai Grand i10.

@cardekho6 жыл бұрын
+Madhu Kalapala The three major point to buy Tiago NRG is - higher ground clearance, touchscreen (borrowed from Tigor) and body cladding. There is no alteration is engine but being a 3-cylinder engine the NVH levels will be more in comparison. On the flip side, Freestyle new engine is excellent at both - it has class-leading figures and feels punchy as well. That said, the primary focus of this engine remains superior driveability and not outright performance. Albeit it’s got an odd number of cylinders, it is quite natural to expect some vibrations. Thankfully, it doesn’t have any, regardless of it missing a balancer shaft that keeps vibrations in check. That said, it could produce vibrations under a cold start, but it gets fairly smooth in no time. Considering your requirement, we would suggest you to pick for Freestyle.

However if you are going to do the driving yourself most of the time, can live with a slightly less spacious car, and you can live with a little less fuel efficiency, freestyle is definitely your car.

I would say Freestyle is a better car, not that Baleno is bad, but Freestyle is trying to give customer more for less unlike Maruti
@arnabpal47786 жыл бұрын
I have taken test drive of both Baleno petrol automatic and Freestyle Diesel. One thing I can say the handling of the Freestyle is by far superior than that of a Baleno mainly the steering. But as I have not take any test drive of the petrol 3 cylinder Freestyle I cant say much about the noise level in the cabin. You need to try that yourself. Few review were saying in Idle you may feel a bit vibration in the cabin for freestyle but that needed to be verified. saying that Freestyle petrol is lot more peppy/responsive is also said in those review. Font sitting and space felt just the same, in the rare the leg room was exactly the same, shoulder room is marginally more in Baleno. Power of Diesel freestyle is byfar more than that of Baleno The Cabin of Baleno looks more premium, but there is something else here to be consider….. price … at the same price point you will be getting a delta in Baleno and a titanium in Freestyle probably then freestyle wins the race. Real bad thing in Freestyle is the rare head rest not adjustable and very awkward…. If you are 5.5 which my wife is its all right for her but it was not comfortable for either me(6 ft) neither for my kid. Also the Boot of Baleno is significantly bigger If its Diesel I feel Freestyle is a much better choice no comparison at all, If its petrol still there are many good things in both the car and you need to take a test drive for both the car judge and set your own priority
@ponygt66296 жыл бұрын
Arnab Pal I ve taken test drive of petrol Freestyle and its amazing, all thats said in reviews are true, its got very refined mid range, very smooth gear shifts, lighter clutch than diesel and good low end torque than Marutis petrol engine, petrol Freestyle is even more value for money than diesel Freestyle if annual running wont cross more than 10,000 kms a year

I planning to buy a car?? From elite i20 magna plus and ford freestyle trend plus, which one should I consider, And my family members are having height above 6 ft, Please do provide suggestions
@cardekho5 жыл бұрын
+Sreejith S.S Here both the cars are of different segments and have their own sets of offerings and features. Ford calls the Freestyle ‘India’s first CUV’ (compact utility vehicle) and stuff like the 190mm ground clearance (10mm lower than the EcoSport!), 30mm wider track, stiffened anti-roll bars and 15-inch alloy wheels make it feel like it can actually take on the rough stuff. It’s a more refined package, at an acceptable incremental cost. It’s a fantastic all-rounder that manages to combine the basics of space, fun and everyday usability right. You will appreciate in Suspension Tune up of this car which seems an equilibrium balance in between a Hatch and SUV. Good Ground Clearance along with Wider Tyres makes it easy to go. On the other hand, the Elite i20 has stood the test of time and the facelift does just enough to keep the it relevant in a highly competitive segment. The new i20 features a few changes but is essentially still the same car with slightly improved driving dynamics. So if you’re looking for a frugal yet youthful family hatch, the i20 is still a viable option. Moreover, the selection completely depends on one's choice and preference. Do take the test drive of the car so as to get a better understanding for the ease and comfort offered.

Will ford freestyle be a better buy than baleno of maruti ?? it's tough to choose between these two !!
@cardekho6 жыл бұрын
+Raghav Parchhanda If you want to buy the Baleno because everyone else is, go ahead. It truly is a well-rounded package. We’re glad ABS and dual airbags are standard no matter what variant you choose. Baleno is a premium hatchback and gets good features. If we talk about fuel efficiency then, Baleno has a upper hand in both petrol and diesel version. On the other hand, Freestyle is ruff & tuff car which delivers better power performance among all these cars. With the 190mm of ground clearance it gets better command on all terrain. It’s a more refined package, at an acceptable incremental cost. It’s a fantastic all-rounder that manages to combine the basics of space, fun and everyday usability right.

@cardekho6 жыл бұрын
+Komali Gorityala If we understand you correctly, you wish to know about Ford Figo facelift. The refreshed Figo is expected to be launched here in the coming months. You can go ahead with Freestyle as the Figo has started to show its age. The Freestyle, on the other hand, is not only practical but also adds more zeal to the package. Factors that help its case are the raised ground clearance, the punchy new petrol engine, the slick-shifting gearbox and the amount of safety tech that is on offer. The diesel engine, on the other hand, continues to be as capable and potent as before. The only downside of the Freestyle is the lack of an automatic option at a time when every other carmaker is offering AMTs and CVTs.
@Sreenathmr5556 жыл бұрын
Please don't compare the ford freestyle with Hyundai grand i10 and swift. It's nonsense. Freestyle is other segment vehicle (CUV)with lot of features and also there is no such problem of insufficient space as u said. Only something missing is DRL with projected Head lamb and driver hand rest. I am owning a Ford freestyle titanium diesel car. Insufficient space feeling is only in seeing but when we are inside its enough.
@arnabpal47786 жыл бұрын
you are absolutely correct on the space. Me my wife and kid sit on both Balleno and Freestyle back to back on the same day in the rear sit. it feat exactly the same when it comes to leg room, and shoulder room is very marginally more in Balleno, Boot is realy big in Balleno but not the cabin space

I am really confused between swift vxi and freestyle trend.. Which one i should prefer? Is there any problm with the engine and performance compred with swift as it is 3 cylinder
@cardekho6 жыл бұрын
+Ananda Suryan Maruti Suzuki Swift Vxi fulfils most people’s basic needs. This variant is not good enough to make the Swift a thorough modern-day hatchback. To call it that, it should have at least been equipped with features such as push button start/stop, auto climate control, electrically-foldable ORVMs, etc., all of which are available in the next variant - the Swift Z. Verdict - The Swift’s V variant is the one that fulfils the needs of most of the buyers since it ticks all the right boxes. But a jump of Rs 88,000 for the basic amenities over the base variant is a bit on the higher side. If you okay to own a Swift minus electrically adjustable ORVMs, steering controls and height adjustable driver’s seat, we’d recommend you to go for the base variant and get power windows, central locking, keyless entry, and audio system fitted from Maruti Suzuki. These might not cost you over Rs 35,000. Get seat covers as well and you’ll still save some money. Ford Freestyle Trend Variant gets all the important features that we expect from a sub-Rs 10 lakh hatchback. However, the additional goodies on offer do not justify the premium of Rs 90,000 over the base variant, especially when you consider that you can get most of these add-ons retrofitted at a much lower cost. Instead, if you can strecth your budget then pick for Titanium Variant as it is value-for-money variant in our books. Also, the new 3-cylinder motor of Freestyle feels far superior to the older 4-cylinder unit. The new one is excellent as it has class-leading figures and feels punchy as well. That said, the primary focus of this engine remains superior driveability and not outright performance. Since it’s got an odd number of cylinders, it is quite natural to expect some vibrations. Thankfully, it doesn’t have any, regardless of it missing a balancer shaft that keeps vibrations in check. That said, it could produce vibrations under a cold start, but it gets fairly smooth in no time.

Maruti ignis delta petrol vs ford freestyle trend which one to buy and which one is worth of money??
@cardekho6 жыл бұрын
+deepanshu pal Maruti Ignis Delta ticks all the basic features & gets some more, and is value for money. It gets wheel covers (still no alloys), turn signal on ORVM (outside rear view mirror), dual-tone dashboard, tachometer, audio with CD and FM, Bluetooth, USB and 2 speakers, steering-mounted control and audio remote control, remote keyless entry, electrically adjustable ORVM, day/night IRVM (inside rearview mirror), rear height adjustable restraint, rear seat 60:40 split, rear power windows and security alarm. The Delta variant is the one that offers value for money. For an additional Rs 61,000 (over Ignis Sigma petrol-manual) you get all the aforementioned features which make it seem a lot like a car with contemporary features and takes proper. The features on this variant will certainly make your life a lot more convenient in the long run. Ford Freestyle Trend Variant feels overpriced. It gets all the important features that we expect from a sub-Rs 10 lakh hatchback. However, the additional goodies on offer do not justify the premium of Rs 90,000 over the base variant, especially when you consider that you can get most of these add-ons retrofitted at a much lower cost. Instead, we would suggest you to stretch your budget & pick for next variant i.e. Titanium Variant which is the value-for-money variant.

Buy Petrol or diesel ??
@cardekho6 жыл бұрын
+Tejas Joshi If you asked us to pick between the diesel and the petrol versions of the outgoing Aspire, we'd make a run for the keys of the diesel. Because, with 100PS of power and 215Nm of torque on tap, the 1.5 TDCi transformed this little sedan into a freight train. It had no business pulling the way it did. That remains the same this time around too. It’s easily amongst the most fun diesel compact sedans in the market, with the torque coming in quickly and staying around for quite some time should you want to flex your right foot a bit more.

@cardekho6 жыл бұрын
+sameer dutt The Elite i20 was already a stylish, well-built and feature loaded car. The i20 Active simply offers the same traits in a more butch avatar. It’s still a great city car and offers the easy of use you’d expect of a hatchback, but thanks to the cosmetic changes, it has more road presence too. 1.4-litre U2 CRDi Diesel engine offers great performance and driveability. It is mated to a 6-speed manual and puts out 90PS/220Nm. On the other hand, Ford calls the Freestyle ‘India’s first CUV’ (compact utility vehicle) and stuff like the 190mm ground clearance. Freestyle, It’s a more refined package now, at an acceptable incremental cost. It’s a fantastic all-rounder that manages to combine the basics of space, fun and everyday usability right. +shiva prasad As per your requirements, Freestyle would be a better pick as it has better ride height and good suspenssions too. The top Titanium+ variant of this car gets side and curtain airbags, automatic headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, auto dimming IRVM and a 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system. And while these are features that you can live without, having them will make your driving experience a lot more pleasant.

+praveen c Here Freestyle would be a better pick as it has better power, ground clearance, space and nice suspension setup. The diesel version gets the tried-and-tested 1.5-litre TDCI engine that also powers the Figo, Aspire and the EcoSport. The Ford Freestyle gets a new, punchy 1.2-litre petrol engine (96PS/120Nm), which also happens to be the most powerful naturally aspirated engine in its class. Dual-front airbags, ABS with EBD and rear parking sensors are offered as standard in the Ford Freestyle. Moreover, we would suggest you to take a test drive in order to clear your all doubts.

tigor(xza) or freestyle(titanium +) which one is value for the money, also tel me the rear seating comfort for three elderly person to occupy. and over all build quaity, because it going o be my first car(real time owner suggestion)
@cardekho6 жыл бұрын
+Ganapathy Ramanathan The Tigor XZA gets a host of features like projector headlamps, alloy wheels, dual airbags, rear defogger, seat belt with pretensioners & load limiters, electrical boot unlocking and body coloured air vents on select two exterior shades - Berry Red and Copper Dazzle. You also get two tweeters in addition to the four speakers of the XT.It is a decent buy for someone looking for a car with most of the comfort and convenience features and, of course, the additional safety in the form of airbags. The rear seat feels more comfortable as they stretch from pillar to pillar. The well-cushioned seats and the inclusion of a centre armrest add to the sense of comfort. Headroom at the rear is good though, and the seat is wide enough to seat three reasonably sized adults. Though, the cabin feels noisy though, as there is road noise, engine noise and wind noise seeping into the cabin. A quieter cabin would make the Tigor’s rear seat an even better place to be in, besides reducing tiredness over long distances. The Titanium+ variant gets side and curtain airbags, automatic headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, auto dimming IRVM and a 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system. And while these are features that you can live without, having them will make your driving experience a lot more pleasant. Lest we forget, there’s a total of six airbags for added protection as well. The Freestyle’s cabin space remains identical to the Figo, which means space for the rear passengers is a little tight. We would suggest you to take a test drive along with the family in order to judge rear seat space. Click on the link to compare both the cars: bit.ly/2uOEwfO

Which one is more VFM ? 1. Ford Figo Titanium (diesel) 2. Ford Freestyle Titanium (diesel)
@cardekho5 жыл бұрын
+Sam Matz The Figo would be our pick here. It not only gets features like rear power windows and height-adjustable driver seat but also gets feel-good features like push-button start and auto AC. On the other hand, with Titanium variant of Freestyle you get Roof rails, electronic stability program (ESP), traction control and hill launch assist. The other variant that you can consider is Figo Titanium Blu which is certainly a more attractive package compared to the Freestyle Titanium. It’s more feature-rich and safe for the family too as it gets side and curtain airbags. The Freestyle isn’t too far behind in terms of the value it offers either. If you are traveling less than 50-60km a day, opt for a petrol car instead of a diesel. With the extra Rs 1-1.50 lakh spent on a diesel purchase, you can actually drive a similar petrol car for as many as two years! So, do your math carefully. A diesel usually makes sense if you are driving above 60/70km a day. Moreover, you may take the test drive for both the cars to pick the one that matches your needs and requirements. Safety, performance and good build quality and a powerful engine -- that's Ford Freestyle. 2-3kmpl mileage shouldn't be a concern so please go for the Ford Freestyle
@udaynair16 жыл бұрын
As far as mileage is concerned, i20 active gives pratically 12 (City) -16 (highway) kmpl. 96 PS power in Freestyle and 83 PS power in i20 active... but Space is a concern in Freestyle.. Rear Head room, front/back shoulder room and Knee room is very limited, freestyle is not meant for broad and tall people... also the Boot space is smaller than i20 active... Coming to Interior and exterior fit and finish.... Freestyle just can't beat the i20 active. I20 active is very niche product with very useful, functional and reliable features... engine is very refined and overall car is very value for money. Freestyle has ARP, ESC, TCS, HLA as additional features over i20 active... but you won't feel the need of these safety features on daily commuting unless you are too much into off roading. Also i have personally checked the Freestyle model in showroom, the front doors do not shut with good thud, it sounds hollow just like the old Figo. You can check yourself and compare at hyundai and Ford showrooms. The rear doors are too light weight and feels cheaply built. Overall i would pick the I20 active for the value it offers for price and needless to say the peace of mind Hyundai service has to offer over un-reliable and inconsistent Ford after sales service.

I agree Ford after sales are inconsistent, but who told you Hyundai is consistent and reliable, maybe its for you, but not for me and a whole lot o people , I do a car lease business, has a Creat 1.6 CRDi SX , it has a diesel fuel pump failure just at 60k kms , what a bull shit brand is Hyundai, quality less crap, now Hyundai is saying its my mistake and is not willing to cover it under the warranty, also lot of other examples of Hyundai reliability and stupidly poor quality for parts after 2-3 years of use, so enough of Hyundai crap peace of mind Now Freestyle vs i20 Active, oh, yes you are right, U might not need 6 airbags, APR, ESC,TCS, etc because you are just another common Indian who belongs to worlds most misinformed car buying population, I was in US for 7 years, and in US and all whether be it Hyundai or Honda, or any , no car comes to market without at lest 2 airbags and ESC,TCS,etc because there its mandatory unlike ours where, NOBODY EVEN the consumers dont value lives but value fancy DRLs,polished buttons and knobs and some well designed dash. Now I will still agree that the i20 Active is a good car, because it offers good space, a decent chassis, a good engine and is priced right, but do remember that its a higher segment car like if we are to compare Freestyle to a Hyundai it should have been a Grand i10 Active which is not available in our market, so in that sense, the Ford despite being of a lower segment is better in abilities and function than a Hyundai cross hatch from a higher segment

Ford Freestyle vs VW Polo. Which of these petrol car is a better buy under 7.5 lakhs?
@cardekho6 жыл бұрын
+Eben Daniel The Volkswagen Polo is the brand’s bread and butter model. It offers great build quality, impeccable fit and finish levels, premium interiors and a clean design. The Polo is a great buy if you won’t be using the rear seats often, and need nothing but a well-built car to tackle the daily grind. It isn’t as spacious as its contemporaries, and could’ve been priced a tad aggressively as well. So, if you are looking for better power and often tackles bad road conditions, you can go for Freestyle.

CarDekho : Thanks a bunch dear Cardekho. You guys are awesome. I just happened to check that some models of the new Aspire petrol falls under the same under 7.5 budget. What's your view on that? Could you advice please.
@cardekho6 жыл бұрын
+Eben Daniel Thanks for the appreciation. it means a lot to us. Comfortable, Spacious and presentable, Ford’s Aspire has a lot going for it. The diesel Aspire though won a fan following of enthusiasts thanks to its lively nature and driving dynamics. But now the facelifted Aspire gets a new gearbox for the diesel and a new petrol engine - the lively 1.2-litre Dragon from the Freestyle. The Aspire diesel was preferred over the petrol for its exciting driving dynamics. But with the new 1.2-litre petrol, Ford has truly multiplied Aspire’s abilities as it now delivers the Ford experience while keeping everyday needs firmly in focus. Moreover, no other car in its segment offers a petrol engine that is as powerful. Yes, it doesn’t offer the bragging rights of DRLs and projector headlamps but provides all that matters. You get a touchscreen infotainment system and climate control Trend+ onwards, along with ABS, dual airbags and rear parking sensors as standard. In the top-end variant it gets side and curtain airbags, SYNC3 (easily the best infotainment system in its segment) and a reversing camera. Plus, you get a car that can be a breeze to drive in the city and is fun in the corners. And with a starting price of Rs 5.55 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), the Aspire is lighter on the pocket than the outgoing model.

I suggest Freestyle petrol if you have less than 8000/9000 kms to run every year, else go with Titanium diesel Freestyle

AC performance?? Well if its not cooling well,s how it to Ford service, probably some dust accumulation in filter or something, Fords AC is very good and GC, it has 189mm more than anything in its price range
