he was talking about a drug that is short and fast acting.. that would be adenosine which is used in paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia only. other drugs such as beta blockers (metoprolol/carvidolol), CCB (diltiazam/verapamil) and digoxin can be used in all of them. except in patients with severe asthma/COPD where Beta blockers are usually contraindicated). patients with A. Fib may also need Aspirin or warferin or combination if they're at risk of developing thromboembolism.
