Ah how I do love Cardiff :) You can definitely see the beauty now it's quiet. Southampton is manic and the lines for shops etc are mental. I was very nervous about travelling once we move as what I gather it's an hourly bus route up the valleys and I'll be an hour from the train station! James drives but I don't ((boo)) this is going to be interesting 😳 but your vlogs have assured me IT'LL BE OK! LOL So glad you got to see your parents and Izzy saw her friends ❤️ Also giant plunger had me LOL Thanks for sharing the day x
@PlanetImo4 жыл бұрын
Ahh! The pressure! Heh heh! Yep - the commute is the tedious part, for sure, but you do get so much beauty on your doorstep. I'm not sure how well I'd cope with a bus commute as I can work on trains, and use the time productively, but I get travel sick on buses if I don't look out of the windows. I guess audio books and podcasts could come in handy. Will you be commuting much? In normal times we can commute 4-7 days a week back and forth. Not so much in the last year with GCSE studies being so all consuming, but prior to that we were, for home ed meets, classes and work.
@LifeofWildRoots4 жыл бұрын
@@PlanetImo Well James will be working from home full-time 😳 (think that worries me more mwahaha) He works in the NHS so just taking work with us. I'll only have to travel for appointments with baby or other activities with the kiddies. Hoping to find some HE interaction when we move as we've got a 14 & 12 year old who definitely will need the group setting. Thankfully things are looking not to bad, but again it's when things change or we lockdown again that's going to play havoc! The commute from Mountain Ash to Cardiff used to be painful...oh the long days but luckily it was a train route. Definitely worth it for the beautiful views :D Nothing beats mountain views for me ❤️

It's the same here - many people have a knee-jerk reaction to authority. From what I've heard, living in a lawless, anarchistic society is terrifying and best avoided at all costs. I daresay the optimal balance of authority and freewill is a matter of personal taste... different character types probably suit different levels of authority.

Looks great, but I wont be going to Cardiff any time soon, the only key worker and essential travel is being enforced strictly in Aberdare :-(
@PlanetImo4 жыл бұрын
You’ve just had me panic-Googling. 😂 I’m not sure exactly what constitutes ‘essential’, but as the government guidelines for colleges advise to only use public transport to get to college if you have no other means, then I reasoned that it was considered acceptable to travel for education. And we were of course, travelling to a class which is running in the holidays to make up for lessons lost in term time. Now I’m questioning that. I found this, however... from the 16th www.thetelegraphandargus.co.uk/news/national/18654225.essential-travel-message-dropped-public-transport-wales/ I find the rules are awfully ambiguous. Thanks. Rhys!
@rhysmorgan89464 жыл бұрын
@@PlanetImo on the train platform in Aberdare they have security staff asking each person their reason for travel. If they think its not good enough they stop them getting on the train :(
@PlanetImo4 жыл бұрын
@@rhysmorgan8946 Oh wow! Well, I've Googled and Googled to try to find out if we accidentally broke the rules travelling for education but can't find any definition of 'essential' at all. The only other two times we used public transport since the lockdown was for hospital appointments and I'd been armed with a letter and bloods forms just in case, but non one stopped us at all. It does look as if that rule is being lifted now, which is kind of scary - it was a comfort to me to know that it was going to be quiet and relatively safe on public transport - now maybe it will get crowded again. Eek!

Hooray for a day out, the travelling duo. 🥰. Nice that only 10 people are allowed on a bus at a time. Safety measures sure are in place eh? Back on the train and you're all turned on... ha Lots of yellow lines, but not saying what they are intended for. I do like the one way walking. I can't understand why people just don't stay to their right all the time. Well.. here it's right.. maybe there it's left?.. But it keeps a clear path, without people knocking into you or hitting you with carts and strollers. Wow.. a castle. How lucky for you to have access into such a gorgeous building. Castles really interest me.. the history of them, the engineering behind them, the wars, the triumphs. Beautiful town centre clock....... such a gorgeous town, the buildings are stunning.. A place I would definitely love to visit. I'm actually amazed at how few people were wearing masks.
