To truly be a contender for post-season success in 2024, we still need a starting pitcher better than Gray. Signing or trading for a #5 won't do it. In regular season, the match-ups are not always ace vs ace, #2 vs #2, etc. Gray is good, but not that good if StL is in a playoff series with top-level MLB pitching staffs. We also need two more reliable relief pitchers, so we have good bullpen performance more than every other game. If the Cardinals win the series in Chicago, we will be over .500, finally.

Honestly I agree but I’d be willing to give up a low end prospect for a Quintana reunion.. he pitched well in STL.. can’t keep Gio he has to go.. two legit relievers for sure.. but they need a CF’er who can be a top 4 hitter in this line up.. Robert Jr… or Trout is who Mo should really go all in for.. dream move but just my opinion

Is Wynn still eligible for Rookie of the Year? The reason the Brewers look so good is the mediocre Cardinal play. If we played exactly the same but went 7-1 instead of 1-7 against the Brewers, we would be dominating the Central. This is a good team that needs some serious adjustments. Big Mo needs to do what he does best and get stud pitching before the deadline. Trades need to be made. Some of them need to be released. Promotions are needed from AAA.

@Excitegaming0 I agree. I knew we were never going to get Yamamoto or Ohtani, but I really wanted to get Imanaga to go with Gray. I really wanted Lorenzen because he was Cardinal pricing and plays in the field, but again, no. Instead, we get Middleton and OBrien after getting Lynn and Gibson. No interest in getting Hicks back, etc... Now we're supposed to be happy we beat the Pirates twice and somehow have a shot at a watered-down wildcard.

JD my finger nails are short and anxiety high😂 nice 1st W by Roycroft!👏 Kitties 1st save as a Cardinal!👏 1st team to hit 2 hr's off of Keller and I think 1st in 5starts. Winn looks very impressive with his hitting! He could really be special more than expected this early. I just said that JD..lol ..keep the Df going guys! Unpredictable going into Chicago but at least we got 2 wins in a row. I like the fire in 🔥Lynn, Gray and Arenado and some others we have a good mix here ! We have He||s bells😇 and Romeo ready with a day off. I can see the cards break out with a 8 spot! 🧹🤞⚾️🏆Willson is a miracle with that arm. My broken wrist gave me trouble for months also atrophy with the muscle biceps, triceps and the forearm back in the day. The wrist is complicated though more than the forearm break of Willson. I hope he makes it back all the way to help our offence. Herrera has done a nice job with hitting/ pitch frame. Sorry it's a book.. il guess il start a youtube page and il just speak my comments😂

When you can't score runs then you better have a good one run record. We have a fantastic bullpen and our overall pitching has been the best part of the team this year. Getting close to the halfway point and our offense especially the reserves can't hit. There has to be some guys that can pinch hit and at least one of those guys with speed that can be picked up. If all our injured guys get back maybe we can go with them and do nothing. Still love to get Bauer and give him a shot. His career was stolen by a lying gold digger, Oh and yes I love Mason Winn. Love his hitting approach even his outs can be productive and has good speed so he helps us on base too

This team has been consistently inconsistent.If they ever manage to get 5 games above .500, then fans might have a reason for a little optimism. Until then, it will just be more “one step forward and one step backwards” with more mediocrity.
