Top, if been doing one handed cuts for more than 40 years. I never managed to learn the hot shot cut the right way... And now I'm shooting the cards like a pro. Your tutorials are great !!!, and addictive. Thanks for that!

Really loved the Hot Shot Cut from the first time seeing it so I'm really glad that there is a tutorial for this from yourself as i learn so much more and find it easier to follow than anywhere else on KZbin. Thx Ekat.

Great tutorial! I am playing for almost a week, have master the scissors cut a little bit and did the cutting part of your video almost immediatly! Now I am practicing the shooting part! Great video, explanation and angles!!!

Thanks for the add on magic application of this move. Personally, I'm just a cardist who was into magic a really long time ago so I don't remember many tricks these days. I came here to relearn the hot shot and your tutorials are always up to the mark. But this add on magic utility was really good/helpful.

Brilliant! I've just added card flying snaps and pops to my newbie routine and this was the PERFECT next step to adding a little bit of difficulty while still being able to mix it in with the others I've learned so far, and I definitely think this is my favorite. Still rocking the red foxes deck, it's my FAVORITE deck to use for the teleporter trick haha I love having the visual story of the fox climbing into the teleporter and popping out of the pack in my other hand. Cheers!

Great tutorial. One thing I was really struggling with was the packet switch at 2:35. I couldn’t lift the top packet over the bottom and struggled to manoeuvre the bottom one down. The thing that helped was concentrating on maintaining contact on the tip of the bottom packet with my left index finger to help pivot the top packet over it while pushing it downwards.

Oh Know! I didn't realise Daryl had passed away! He has been a great inspiration to me and I have learned so much from this great man, sad news 8-( I tried to learn this move years ago but failed miserably and kind of put it to bed but I'm going to learn this move no matter how long it takes! we need to keep Daryl's hot shot alive!
@philmcguire73467 жыл бұрын
I got this locked down already! thanks Ekaterina! Its funny how you can come back to a move you couldn't do before and just do it! my tips for anyone trying this is to not clamp the cards, hold them with very little pressure and when you shoot the card experiment with the middle finger until you nail it + you don't need a new deck to pull this off, I'm using a wrecked pack of standard bikes that are ready for the bin! so glad I've learned this move. Rest in peace Daryl
@birdsong37867 жыл бұрын
phil mcguire Another tip is to make sure that the outjogged area of the card is very large, the area between the two cards must be very very small. it is easier to do it that way
@philmcguire73467 жыл бұрын
Thanks Steven - I've been experimenting with this too, I can pretty much get this 100% of the time but I've noticed that sometimes the card shoots much faster and is difficult to catch, I had the same problem with Lennart greens top shot until I mastered it and now I can shoot it fast or slow depending on what I want at the time, I love hot shot because of the spin you can achieve, almost like it's suspended in the air! just need to keep practising until I can get the desired shot when ever I want.

This may sound crazy but I got into cardistry because since going blind I really can’t perform a lot of the magic I know because it’s visual. Really want to perfect shooting a card and catching it though. Just think that would be an awesome trick for me to be able to pull off.
