Apologies if anyone suggested this before but I didn’t see it. Your repeater idea is great and you already have the parts. Just take one of the extra Cardo edge units and mount it to a pole and put that in your roll cage. Then as long as it’s part of your group and powered on then it could be your repeater. No mics or speakers should be needed to be hooked up. It’s worth a try since it seems you have extra units.

I do not know the rules or what makes sense. How do the comms work with situational awareness to hear things outside the ATV? I think that truckers can only have one ear covered, but they are driving on roads. Do you flip one headphone off the ear in some situations, or do the headphones work with both ears covered well enough?

They are only 15db so you can still hear ok. But with Motorosports being we are off road and with the loud exhaust these work great

Hello, how long does the battery last between charges? So if you are out of line of sight (out of range) but are Bluetooth to their phones, you could always call them to get location correct? Thanks,

Got to end, great review. Just got ours and i have a suggestion to Cardo which is no way a negative we love these. So we both wear hearing aids and wish the cushion was as you suggested as different material and larger area around the ears. Sound quality is top notch. We also have a Marlon sxs deck and it’s really nice to get spotter that talks as we load

Still haven’t made it to the end yet but I also like your walkie talkie idea. Someone could make a really ghetto one or someone with 3d printing skills could make something fancy. You have the soakers and the mic, all you would need extra is some sort is switch to put inline with the mic so you can initiate it with the switch.

Made it to the end, great review, my question is on battery life, out all day on the trails streaming music, talking, how long does it last before it dies?
@GunsandTactics6 ай бұрын
A couple of days for sure, we've used them for weekend rides and didn't have to charge. Good news though they charge pretty quick. One ride I forgot to charge and I topped them off when we stopped for lunch.

If you have 4 units in 1 machine, can you share or all listen to the same music? Is it difficult to share music?

I came here for the headphone review and, yup, made it to the end. Really liking these for the sxs I just got and wanted to know if this kit included the helmet mounting parts. It's confusing on the manufacturer website because under "what's in the box" it lists "packtalk edge orv" where the packtalk edge orv description has "packtalk edge unit". Anyway, your unboxing answered that. There is no helmet equipment with the edgephone kit, just the packtalk edge unit. That's fine because the kit is $90 more but I can buy just the edgephones for $150. ($400+150 vs. $490+130) That's msrp but list is typically 10% less. BUT, on their website, THEY OFFER MILITARY AND FIRST RESPONDER 20% DISCOUNT! In our newer firetrucks we have wireless comms and it's a total game changer. We can hear each other and the truck radio over the siren and use PTT to talk over the radio to dispatch. This is why I've been wanting something similar for my sxs but want both helmet or headset options.

Okay I'm confused so what is it telling me that the mic has a NRR 15 rating. Does that mean the headsets only reduce the outside noise by 15 Db or is talking about the mic its self. I want something that reduces the engine/transmission noise, and can communicate with my riding partner is the Packtalk edge the answer?
@GunsandTactics3 ай бұрын
Yes these are awesome. We have about 12 in the group now. The hearing protection element is nice that it takes out the engine and cab noise, but yet you still have a little bit of awareness. The noise canceling technology still amazes me how when we are all talking, even those and loud machines, we don’t hear the engine noise when talking.

The Oxbow Renegade X handheld is the perfect match for those pack talk edge headphones. They connect via Bluetooth to the edge phones and can be used to talk with other SxS’s. That is the setup that I have.

Question, can I buy 2 headsets and talk to my passenger or do I need the intercom?

They are the intercom, wireless unit to unit. We have had 5 so far and all worked great. It supports a large group and it's all wireless!
