I love you guys, but this is utter BS. I've been running the base Spirit paired with the JBL 45mm speakers flawlessly since the beginning of Feb. A few days after I'd set them up, Cardo even pushed an update adding more feature support for the JBL 45mm speakers in the mobile app. I'd also reached out to Cardo prior to buying and been told that they are compatible. Plus, obviously, they're just speakers being plugged into a 3.5mm jack. S/W support is one thing, but they're obviously hardware supported. In my opinion, if you don't have a need to chat with more than one person, there's very little reason to not pair these. After store cash, RPM discount, holiday deals, I was able to get arguably the best quality listening experience for $155.

@bigboydunkin3 ай бұрын
thanks for this, i'm an audio engineer by trade and was caught off guard when i heard him say that the JBL speakers are not compatible with the units, at 3:14. i assume at the time of recording, there are some codes that cardo wrote in their firmware to degrade their audio quality/unable to "unlock" better sound profiles. because surely the drivers are exactly what they are, drivers. with a 3.5mm jack 😂 buying a cardo spirit and upgrading to the 45mm JBL speakers are what my intentions are going to be. the only way the audio quality may be compromised is that if the audio chip digital signal processor (DSP) in the unit itself is different than the other models e.g. spirit vs packtalk lineup. but one thing i've learned in the motorcycle world is that, the company/manufacturers themselves are lazy, they'll just put in the same DSP for all models and offer the difference of quality through the drivers, to cut some costs as well. also going to add on that the misconception now for most people is that bigger drivers, 45mm, means louder output. well generally that is the case, but bigger drivers mean better audio response in terms of quality, because there is just more surface area to put out the frequency hertz, hence the perception "louder". but going down the motorway will still be a challenge because with audio its not about how loud you can put out, but its how much you can block out! the better the isolation the better the audio quality.

Purchased spirit duo as the HD wasn't available here via Lazada, Philippines. As a replacement for my Parani M10's I am very disappointed at the audio quality which can only be described as APPALLING. A total lack of bass results in a painful treble sound. Also there is a delay noticeable between rider and passenger, more noticeable when a horn can be heard TWICE. I fail to understand why a company produces such a bad entry level product as the purchaser is unlikely to consider the higher priced item when upgrading. As an entry level headset at a similar cost (if not cheaper) the Parani M10 wins hands down. If back home in the UK these would have been returned immediately, unfortunately here in the Philippines you pay your money and tough...No returns.

Agree somewhat with you. At speeds of 0 -55 mph the speakers are ok?...Nothing to bragg about though. And that's with the volume maxed out in a full-face helmet with ear plug protection...above that a waste of battery power because you'll barely hear your music. And yes, there is a 1-2 second delay when using the intercom. I may try the JBL upgrade speakers after I do more research to see if their worth the extra money/price!!

Any clarification from Cardo as to why the JBL speakers "won't work"? These would be perfect for my dirtbike helmets that already have the upgraded JBL speakers in them. Swapping over headsets is a pain. Is it an impedance issue? Because they use the same headphone jack. I understand the amp in these is different, but it should still "work" with any speakers within the amps nominal impedance.

I think it supports JBL speakers because Cardo is selling JBL FREECOM/SPIRIT second helmet kit and I see no reason why it wouldn't be compatible as it is regular 3,5mm jack speakers, you could theoretically connect it to any device with 3,5mm jack output. But I agree that there is no reason to get Spirit and buy JBL speakers. I have got FREECOM 4X currently and I have to say it is superb!
@patrickmchugh80392 жыл бұрын
Keep in mind, JBL speakers are not just a 3.5mm jack away from being used with any device - its all a software EQ factor that the higher end units have. But from what we are hearing, Cardo has already ran a firmware update to make the Spirit's work with the JBL speakers.

Why don't you? Guys make a wireless charger adapter for it so it doesn't have to be an open circuit to have water.Get through last lighter be cutting

Because you could just keep a portable charging bank in your motorbike jacket with a cable running up to the system to charge on the go/whilst using. That I would of thought was obvious or at least apparent. No need to add the additional cost of making it wireless to charge, which would also mean having to take the additional step of removing the comm system from your own helmet just to charge. Where with the cable you can leave it on and charge (the exact same as, I don't know, connecting to a portable charging bank)

What a lame video! Repeating simple information any one could read off the box 12 times doesn't make a good vid...

Can you talk with someone else on these without it being a phone call? Just live intercom?
@RevZilla2 жыл бұрын
Yes but only if that person has a Cardo and is within a short distance of the first rider. If you need more than that, you should look at the Freecom line of comms from Cardo.

I heard photogromer say he just uses discord for rides instead of the built in bullshit comm connection so if it can connect to your phone it can connect to unlimited people, whether they are on the ride or at home.
