I'm so damn happy how much variation and interesting tech can go into Yubel Decks -- as someone who's been a fan of Yubel ever since Yu-Gi-Oh GX first aired, I always wanted them to get a proper Deck/archetype, and it's awesome to see that come to fruition, and for it to be doing relatively well in the metagame, too! You did a fantastic job of showing off this Deck, by the way -- I've been kinda learning a few different Yubel variants here and there for the last little while, but I only just now got around to trying to learn the ones with an Unchained package, and I think you did a great job showing that off here. Very cool! Thank you! 😁 (Also, any Deck that allows for an Apollousa line is a great one in my book, haha)

I'm glad to see someone has come to a similar list on their own! My only swap is exchanging the Unchained trap for three mained copies of Skill Drain. True, it does hurt the endboard's negates, but by the time you flip it, you should have gone through everything else. And with most answers these days, outside of Tenpai's Lightning Storm, being monster-based, it really makes it easy to force the game into simple beats, and Conga-lining Yubels into an opponent's monster leads to quick deaths for them.

What you can do with combo 2 is instead of using nightmare pain immediately, you can discard and revive the beckining beast then go into number 65 as your 5th summon. This will protect your board from nibiru and give nightmare pain protection from ghost ogre, if they are focusing on removing it, which is becoming a more popular hand trap. If they fail to handtrap you, you can still combo off and have an additional monster effect negate that burns. The burn actually can matter due to time rules and spreading out the number of negates across multiple cards means your opponent has to spend more resources to shut them all off.

In the testing I’ve done, if you run the Ultimate Nightmare to summon off of Terror Incarnate, you could go into a Knightmare Gryphon under Muckraker, pointing to Varudras, and an empty zone which you can summon Soul of Rage to with Chamber, while also having Nightmare Pain and Nightmare Throne face up, and Eternal Favorite facedown

@@cardsandcoffeetcg after more testing, it can also add Yubel to the board, which brings back Lotus to the other zone Gryphon points to. Which if sequenced correctly, leads to an Omni-negate which is also a destruction, a monster negate, a link-off removal into a banish, which has another banish, a super poly board wipe, and a Gryphon floodgate. For a total of 7 disruptions and a floodgate. 6 if you only use the Omni negate from Varudra and not the destruction

@@vgmaster02 overall my build is relatively similar to this one. But I only run 2 copies of Gruesome Grave Squirmer, and i don’t run Pot of Prosperity, opting to instead run Ultimate Nightmare, Mature Chronicle, a second Eternal Favorite, and oddly enough, a Monster Reborn (still testing that one). As for the extra deck, I don’t run Unchained Soul of Anguish or TY-PHON, instead running Knightmare Phoenix, and Knightmare Gryphon. I choose to run the Mature Chronicle because it can summon back a Yubel, which helps with extending, but mainly for another package I was testing with. One copy of Thunder Dragondark, one Thunder Dragonhawk, and one Thunder Dragon Colossus. Since you can remove 3 counters from Mature Chronicle to banish a card from your deck, you can make Thunder Dragon Colossus mid combo. Put those in the side myself though

Mmmmm imper is a must imo, however, this brings consistency and droplet is insane Right now. Nib is a force to be reckoned tbh, i like this deck and it's what i am playing. Recently a top 2 on a regional on tema bortle udpate a profile with a similar Extra deck, thanks for the profile

At 16:29 you should absolutely summon Squirmer first. If your opponent has Nibiru and you go for Sharvara, they can chain Nibiru to wipe your field, which traps Sharvara in your hand and leaves you without any way to get Squirmer out of your hand. Your turn is completely over. There's not even any extender TTT could draw that would give you plays from that point. They could also wait until you've summoned Sharvara, at which point you've Fiend locked yourself and can't threaten Apollousa, giving them more opportunities to drop Nibiru and leave you without Fiends for Squirmer. If you summon Squirmer instead and your opponent doesn't drop Nibiru immediately, you can immediately make a 3 material Apollousa then use Squirmer to bring back Spirit as a Sharvara target, summoning itself and triggering both Spirit and Yama. From there you just make the board. And if your opponent does choose to drop Nibiru before you make Apollousa, you can use Squirmer's GY effect to summon Spirit and pop it with Sharvara for the same triggers. The Primal Being Token + Sharvara make Rage, and you have 2 Level 10s for Varudras. It's a difference of giving your opponent zero good options vs giving them multiple game-winning options. [EDIT] Correction: You could chain Squirmer to the effect of Nibiru so it ends up in your GY, but you're still out of resources to capitalize on the monster you summon off the GY effect. Best case scenario is you revive Yubel and trade the token for Lotus on End Phase. If you try to pop one of your Yubel monsters on resolution of Squirmer, Yama still won't trigger since Nibiru hadn't sent it to the GY yet when the pop happened.

If you have more extension you can make an early varudras if you don't use nightmare throne special summon effect right away, but pop your yubel on the field to special the terror incarnate, then you can pop the incarnate with like grave squirmer or sharvara, then you can use nightmare throne to get a lvl10 again. In this case you have the same amount of monster, but the lvl10 is better for rank10 plays.

I have a curious question about spirit of yubel: so in your combo after activation of nightmare pain destroying it you used it's effect. A min later you used shavara to destroy it and said you can use it's effect again, is spirit's effect a once per turn or is it a trigger of something else?

For clarity: So nightmare pain and Yubel can pretty much cause double damage? For example, before damage calculation , Yubel inflicts damage equal to ATK. Then, the damage step nightmare pain kicks in inflicting damage again ? Maybe I’m looking too deep into it 😵‍💫

@@JosephSmith-ri5bx that’s correct! With those yubels you would do double damage and the others just damage from the spell. Also, with pain you can crash your yubels to burn once for each attack ☕️ the original yubel must be targeted for the attack to get the addition burn

While sharvara is on the field, you can only summon fiends, so once you link it off into rage, your no longer locked

Since Samsara is your best normal I prefer to play 3 opening and only 2 beast, as opening is an extender in hand but beast is only a normal summon
