Finally a video where people aren’t talking fast and all this bullcrap poker lingo which can easily be called wtf it is vs some acronym or whatever. I’m a computer science major and every channel for poker just assumes you speak the lingo, even though the video title says beginner on it 😂 I know how to play poker ♣️ but not speak 🗣️ poker with other people. In my field i don’t tell a guy wanting to code to code me a instagram app on the first day and tell me the difference between a microservice and a monolith architecture 😂 Thaaank you for a simple video 🙏🏾

Hi, I played in my first tournament after watching you I am so glad I watched you. Small card room, I got there early and I engaged the dealer and explained my situation. He told me exactly what you did, and made me much more comfortable. One glitch, I folded out of turn (different dealer) told me my error and said "next time" it's a warning. Embarrassing, but meh. Thank you so much for the help! I finished 27 out of 45!!!

Back in 2005 there used to be bars all over town that would offer free poker. Some of them picked up sponsors from popular online poker sites to offer prizes with no buy in. With it though came some shady behavior. There was one such tournament I was in and the bar owner walked up to the table I was in and started handing out extra chips to his buddies right in the middle of a hand. I was the only one at the table that did not get the bonus chips, but unbeknownst to the bar owner, I was sitting on the nut straight when he did this. I shoved all in out of disgust and everyone still in the hand called with their newly found bonus chips which I promptly won off of them. The bar owner was not happy.

I play a lot of cash games at the local casinos and I've seen a lot of the "weekend warrior" players not know that 1 chip rule. It's funny when they toss that $25 chip in, thinking they're raising only to hear the dealer say "call 3"
@jacobedwards87552 жыл бұрын
Do they get the chip you tossed even tho it was more than what you needed to call? Like are you just giving free money away or will the dealer break the chip and give you back what you overpaid?
@someoneelse6934 Жыл бұрын
@@jacobedwards8755 they will make change for you. Usually when the bets session has ended and the chips are being pulled into the pot.

Very nice video! Two things I didn't know at my first tourney were keeping high value chips out front and that the hole cards stay on the table. Funny that I watched so much poker on TV but didn't pick up these things.

You would be surprised at the regulars at my local poker tournament that have to be reminded about their high value chips, it's a common issue even with regs. :)

what happens if i make day two of a tournament? do i take the chips with me or does the dealer count them for me and give me a receipt for the next day?
@CardsChat2 жыл бұрын
Hi Mr. Bert! You do a count and bag them up. The house keeps them secure for you - you get a receipt with your chip count and all your info. It would be a huge risk and opportunity for fraud/cheating if players kept their chips. 🙂
@CardsChat2 жыл бұрын
Your chips go into a bag with the amount & your sname and signature on it. The next day that bag comes out & you verify it's yours.

With today’s tournaments , don’t play ABC poker. Tough to win that way. I started tournaments back in 2006, ABC did not do me well.
