I emphasize on practical learning. In our institute we use miniature models structure to explain all details. For example we have made this staircase model structure . With the help of this model structure we explain them staircase detail and then help them to make better 2d drawings.
We have architecture students also who have completed degree in architecture to learn interior design. Because architecture and interior fields are very much interconnected. To enhance their skills, architecture students should learn interior design. An architect should always think about interior also while designing and detailing any building, then these buildings will result in much better designed one.
Our approach is much practical for these courses. We give studio lectures with the help of these models, then teach them 2d presentations, show them videos from different sources, take our students to site visits, industrial visits like we went tile factory, furniture showroom. We give them so much of exposure so that they understand that this course is not meant to make only sheets but their designs will actually be constructed in future. Our main motto is to give our students as much as practical knowledge we can.
