My teacher asked me.. what you want to become in life ? I replied I want to join RAW .. Whole class laughed at me..it's been 5 years I am preparing my self I couldn't able to clear my SSB.. twice first day out (दुख इस बात का है) they haven't analysis me fully.. Jai Hind I completed my graduation this year. From the beginning, I took care in choosing work for myself, that I should not spend my life sitting in a place from 7 to 5 on a chair every day. I have always wanted to do an adventurous and exciting work for Bharat Maa, in which there is little risk and in which I do not have to repeat the same thing every day. In all this, I found only two tasks exciting; To join army OR Go to intelligence department. I was also interested in understanding India's interests in international politics and was also very interested in India's security policy so I planned to go through the UPSC CIVIL SERVICES at R&AW (Research and Analysis Wing) but these days I don't know why There was a fear that if I get caught abroad as a spy, the Indian government would disown me and I might have to spend 28 to 30 years in jail or I could be hanged. That is why my mind is advising to join the army on the one hand, on the other hand I am not able to remove my mind from R&AW either. I feel that I am afraid of being caught but still I am unable to choice in the Army and R&AW. Although my first choice is R&AW but because of less knowledge about it and little bit of fear I couldn't finalize it. Please guide

Sir being a vigilante is not the right path because often serving justice gets converted to simple revenge taking, and there is a saying that be careful whose u choose ur enemy because it's very much possible that u can become one There is only so little u can do by being a vigilant but in a system if patriotic being such as u are there then the system gets good and honest leading to world class organizations like isro, nhai, Ada, drdo,etc What u have said is true that ppl are killed inside of every class and religion based on variety of reasons and if u want to do good than u have to do so in a way that is governed and if not than in line with our constitution. For eg if a woman gets raped and the criminal gets bailed out because of bad laws than rather than killing him by taking law in ur hands the better way is to make the law good so that in future such things may not happen, because let's say there r 1000 such incidents and even if u devote ur life in killing them its possible that u may not be able to achieve that and even if u achieve it, what about similar say 2000 cases which may occur after u r gone.

Killings as u mentioned may fall in department of ib or cbi and poice, therefore we shd join these I was also lookin but they take very few people, for selection in ib there r vacancies in a cycle of 2 years generally, and they take around 600_ 1000 from general category. But the thing which surprises me is that we need around 26k officers in ib but there r around 18k, meaning shortage of 8000 officers but still they don't hire much. Note - data may be out of date don't know current situation

RAW should get preference to other streams because they work under very critical conditions with great risk to their lives , I am talking about field officers and not those who sit in AC Chambers. The salaries of Field Officers should be much greater than the RAW Chief with allowances, then only can we expect better performance.

Sir there is a video of a former raw chief explaining the salaries and job there he told that depending on how hard the posting is the bump is included in salary further whatever he/she spends there on the mission is given by the agency so money is not the problem. Further we all have to agree that this is not a typical job and although we don't know the achievements of raw but we have to be assured that they r performing very well and they don't have bad field agents, this is a central job not some state exam where one can slack a little bit
