BARC selection process is solely based on BARC interview, unlike other PSU selection process. Gate or written exam is only for screening for interview which means it doesn’t add to final selection criteria. This makes selection process very arbitrary and unpredictable. Quality of question asked in interview is good. It focuses on core understanding. But that doesn’t make it toughest interview because level of competition also matters. Results are arbitrary, so deserving candidates sometimes get rejected which has given it the fame of being a tough interview. Prepare for it but go without expectation. I am BARC OCES 2011 batch.

Interview is after you get selected via written test or gate examination. Interview lasts for 40min-1.25 hrs
