Most of the private med colleges r owned by MP s of our country. So u can be pretty sure that whoever comes in power hardly there is any chance of change. Medical education in our country is a business of almost 10000 crore. On top of that govt gets high tax @ revenue from this private institutes , on the contrary in govt institute govt has to bear high subsidized rate. Our country is rapidly shifting from a welfare state ( western europe) to capitalist ( USA) one. So this legalisation of illegalities is a new normal in India.

@@rajx7120 you got me wrong I am saying in percentage. The cut off is so low in NEET , a 120 score or for that matter a 167 this year can get someone a private medical. Even if the authority for reason best known to them wants to make it low at least 40%( ie more than the usual school pass mark) of the 720 or more may be more appropriate.. For that matter Passmark throughout MBBS exams is 50

@@rajx7120 you got me wrong. What I meant is the NEET cut off is extremely low . Imagine instances of someone with a score as low as 14% getting admission in a private medical college. If school passmark is generally 30-35%, why not 40 or more percent for a test as huge and prestigious like NEET? This way we are more likely to get decent doctors all over the country. Btw 50% is a passmark for all subjects in all the stages of MBBS

This is common knowledge among students that Engg(cs) is better than MBBS Degree. When this thought process becomes riveted among good students, MBBS will be attractive only for the rich and mediocre students and then quality and number of good doctors shaal be very limited. Thank you for highlighting this important issue sir. Medical education is expensive even for those who are supposed to pay 5-6 lakhs. Our per capita income is very low. How can the government even allow medical education to be in crores given how poor our doctor patient ratio and public infrastructure is! A majority of poor Indians are only aware about a few respectable professions, one of which is a doctor. What do they even dream of? How much debt ridden do we have to be in this bad economy with no jobs? How do we expect doctors to not become corrupt when they have to pay crores to become one and then further study for MD? No country can thrive without a strong nationalised public education and medical system. We're sitting on a time bomb of novel virus and antibacterial resistant contagion along with rising cancers. People here continue to die from preventable diseases and medical students are being charged crores. Shame on this government and country who do nonstop hindu muslim instead of talking about real issues.

Can you please give this data since you were able to figure out that 2% seats in these non-government universities were taken by EWS? Another useful statistic would be to find out how many students who were eligible for private universities did not join because they could not afford it. If you look at financial means of students in all the categories, you will find that a lot of them are very economically capable and they keep suppressing others in categories. Sir, I think you are getting confused between payment category and EWS category( at 16.15) , both are different. payment category is open for all OC, OBC, SC , ST everyone who can afford and pay 1 crore and join it is not EWS category.

It is very important to take re-NEET because cheating has happened on a large scale here. If there is re-examination then all these people will be eliminated and those who are genuine students will be selected.

in educational testing field we call a test as highly reliable if scores will be repeated upon retest and highly valid if the testing actually measures the skill basket that candidates will actually need (and that is why neet type tests need to be multi-part to cover all skill basket) ... that is we call a score scale valid if it has high correlation with success in academics and careers that follow academics and by that i do not mean how much money they will make but how well they will perform as physicians or if they pursue post grad in molecular biology and engage in finding new useful and cheaply manufacturable molecules ... from what you say it seems that neet is not at all a valid test for medical admissions ... i think so we need to have a system of one or two years of education that will prepare them for western style medicine or alternative medicine or chemistry so that intake to main course receives a more homogeneous student population for all 3 or 4 areas: (1) mainstream medicine (2) alternative medicine (3) nursing, paramedicine (4) molecular chemistry ... and then we will have smaller number of aspirants for each stream who know really know what they really want to do ... ex-high school students lack maturity and specific knowledge to make informed career decision

My opinion is Private hospitals should enploy these third grade doctors coming out from private medical college, so that patients avoid private hospitals😂

So basically a Middle class General candidate is the most discriminated class in India. He does not get seat in govt college due to 60% flat reservation and cannot afford a private college due to high fee. Sir i was disappointed by ur hatred towards general candidates. Many of us r from very very humble family working hard to make a career in India. I have seen supper rich OBC, SC, ST who still avail reservation. Why hate the general candidates most of whom are middle class and most discriminated group in India. This is a fact u just proved here.

Does the speaker have any proof that the students who have paid over Rs one crore as fees have taken admission under the EWS quota? In my experience such students already are super rich people who can easily afford that kind of fees and are by no means EWS but take admission under the "Management quota". The really meritorious ones who study hard and get 600 or more marks can't get admission though they belong to genuinely economically weaker sections but can't afford the fees if they don't get admission under the very limited number of seats in the General category.

You cannot force private medical college to lower the fee and take poor average students, in that case you have to give them grant. Let us abolish NEET system for private medical college, but make sure they have to pass the license examination (needs to be tough) for their future practise. In the same case for getting admission in cheap private college you only have to take medical test efficiently, thats all

If govt bear half of the expenses of private and deemed universities or give significant amount of funding then this pvt colleges will also charge very less or affordable amount and also the students who are eligible can study in those colleges. The main problem is in our gdp govt only allocate 1.5% for the whole education in this scenario how can those pvt colleges run their expenses ? As a result they charge hefty tuition fees from students, govt should interfere in this situation and allocate a funding not total expenses but minimum half of the expenses, no hate that's only my pov

Sir its an eye opening presentation. But you have not touched upon another important issue which is reservation. Those who are rich get seat in private college. Lower caste with low marks will get in government college. So India has effectively eliminated UC poor meritorious from list. Lower caste rich non meritorious are the most benefited

I think people are confused about nri in mcc counselling nri sponsered seat are allowed which means any first blood relative can be an nri and the student can get a seat by sponsership of that relative.this results in 2-4cr seats where cutt off goes high like kmc manipal

Getting a govt seat is just the beginning. The real challenge comes during MBBS and the exams after it. If you aren't 💯 committed, I suggest you don't take this course. After all this job deals with matters regarding life and death!

Pls also consider the no. of low scoring students who occupied the highly subsidised govt college seats thru reservation categories. Many of these eventually not able to cope with the highly competitive and rigorous syllabus of MBBS drop out. Which is why even though 100k qualify but at end of 5 yrs. only 62k appear for finals. How many seats are wasted like that. Just like ews, reservations is also a joke, students who pay 4 to 5 lacs for NEET classes, claim to be backward only on basis of caste and get into govt colleges for much less %. Nobody seems to be talking about this... It's convenient vote bank politics for both the reserved category & politicians.
