Hey there! I'm a rising junior doing my undergrad, and I think I'm in pretty much the same position you described yourself in - I've always wanted (or believed I wanted) to become a doctor, although in hindsight that's probably just me growing up in India and everyone telling me that's what I should do. But right now, I just KNOW that public health is what I actually love, I don't think I've ever felt that for medicine. But a lot of people that I would consider mentors are telling me I should really go for an MD + MPH instead of just an MPH, but I don't think I want to practice medicine. Do you know anything about going to medical school and doing something more in the field of public health rather than being a physician? (Sorry if that was a lot of rambling oops) Tysm!

Hi dear. I did medical school in Afghanistan and have 5 years of being a physician. I am not satisfied with that. Now I am in the U.S but I do not really feel like to go to board exam and start dealing with patients again. What I feel is why not to help healthy people not to get sick. Can you help me find some accredited universities to get my MPH?

Hi!!! I’m so happy that I stumbled upon your channel! It has definitely inspired and encouraged me to go on my new career journey. I notice you speak a lot about having a BS background and landing these Public Health careers, but I have a BA in Psychology. I am strongly considering getting an MPH in Global Health. Could you possibly make a video regarding those with a BA social science background that would like to get an MPH and their career options? I’d looove to see that! 💕

I’m a freshman in college in Washington state and I was wondering if you could make a video about what are some different careers you can do with a Bachelors public health and opportunities with a MPH and if there is a good job outlook. I’m not sure what I want to do but I do want to be able to help people improve there environment like you talked about the health disparities between where people live and I do like learning about diseases and I definitely want to be involved in prevention. I’m not that good at math but I was hoping you could talk about some careers that are similar to public health that aren’t to heavy in math but I do understand that I will probably have to use statistics.

Wonderful video. Definitely want to study the public health. Your video truly inspired me. I would love to go into communicable disease prevention. I also love the aspect when you mentioned about immunization education as well.For both areas what is a good concentration area of study in public health? What schools do you recommend.

Well, I have completed my bachelor in zoology hons. Now I wanted to apply for mph because of importance and motivation I received from my friend .I really interested in this field as mainly diseases are spreading out of animals and really want to get more knowledge and certification,where I can help public with my intelligence and try to alleviate as much as I can. But for admission in university it is hard to convince as I am not from medical field. Can you help me with this?

Am not good in calculations, but I love interacting directly with patients and I do insanely wonder how do they contract the disease they are suffering now, can it be prevented? How? Especially those chronic illnesses. Am always so curious. Am currently obtaining my first degree (Bsc) in my country Nigeria. But am wondering if am to go for my MPH, what will my concentration be as I love working directly with my clients/patients.

How was your experience at CDU ? Their epi program for urban health disparities is something I’d really be interested in. After getting a bachelors in PH at a school with only 3% black people ive really been considering an hbcu lol and its even better that its in California so i dont have to go far.

Epi and biostats MPH majors usually have math and science undergraduate degrees. Us humanities and social science undergrads usually go into community health, health promotion and policy

Kyyah I'm torn because I feel the passion you do when it comes to having an MPH. For me, I want to work in the Public Health, Healthcare or Biotech/Pharma industry. But I don't know if i want to work in the business side or informatics side. Regulatory affairs is one of my top choices but I'm open to other avenues as well in the business or data side. Can an MPH be helpful if you want to work in the business side or informatics side? I feel the MPH will give me more flexibility over a MHA or MBA?
@THEFASHIONUNIVERSE Жыл бұрын
I have the same exact concern. Idk if an MPH will prepare me for the business side of healthcare If I want to become the ceo of a hospital for example.
@CONTROLFIRE9 Жыл бұрын
@@THEFASHIONUNIVERSE A Master of Public Health (MPH) degree can be a valuable asset for individuals who want to pursue a career in healthcare management, including becoming a CEO of a hospital. However, an MPH degree is typically more focused on public health policy, epidemiology, biostatistics, and health education, rather than the specific business skills required to run a hospital. To prepare for a CEO role in a hospital, you may want to consider pursuing an advanced degree in healthcare management, such as a Master of Health Administration (MHA) or Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a healthcare concentration. These programs often cover topics such as healthcare finance, accounting, operations management, strategic planning, and leadership. Additionally, gaining practical experience in the healthcare industry can also be beneficial for aspiring hospital CEOs. You may want to consider starting in a lower-level management position and working your way up, or seeking out mentorship opportunities with experienced healthcare executives. Overall, while an MPH degree can provide a solid foundation for a career in healthcare management, additional education and practical experience may be necessary to develop the specific skills required for a CEO role in a hospital.

@@CONTROLFIRE9 Great information! Thank you so much! I think I’m leaning more towards the MHA route because I have a public health background already from university
