Congrats! I have applied to the SE trainee train driver role as well. I have just completed the GTR test. How many more stages do I have?
@s.jreviews51983 жыл бұрын
@@zainahmed5695 Thanks Zain! So once you pass the application you will go to a test centre and have to do 13 assessments. You will need to pass each one to be able to move on throughout the day. They let you know when you pass each test. Once all assessments are completed you will have your manger interview. Once successful you will have your DMI. After that drug test. Boom! But the wait for all of this took 2 years.
@zainahmed56953 жыл бұрын
@@s.jreviews5198 Oh my goodness! 2 years?! You actually smashed it! I am hoping I did well enough with my online test to progress to the next stage. This has mentally prepared me without a doubt. Thanks for getting back to me. Any tips ")
@s.jreviews51983 жыл бұрын
Your welcome! It's a journey and worth it if you want it bad!...When you get to the assessment I promise they are not as hard as all the practice test you will see online. If you have good focus you will smash it!. Be authentic and use the website values, vision and mission code. They want to her you speak about that.

@@CareerVidz Thanks! My advise to others going through the process now, or who will in the future is; Don't treat each stage as a separate part of the recruitment, treat them as one as if you're taking them all on the same day. Impress at each stage. Going into your interview be confident and relaxed, keep safety, communication and customer service in your mind and make sure to include them when it's relevant. Lastly, do your research! Into the company, into the job specifically and into yourself. Prepare what answers you're going to give for anything that might come up. Try to find relevant facts on the company that really show you've dedicated time to researching who you're applying to work for, not just the generic rubbish you find on Wikipedia, although that's also fine to include. I found facts regarding their annual growth towards customer satisfaction, for example. I'd say good luck to anyone reading this, but if you're prepared for each and every stage, you won't need it. Just give it everything you can.

The videos and how2become have been very useful to me. The interview process was intense but I felt confident because I had acquired a lot of knowledge from you. However I failed my managers interview first time because I did not know much about NON TECHNICAL SKILLS/Soft Skills. I reapplied and I have passed the interview. Maybe in your next video you could talk about it as it is an area they take very seriously. Once again thank you for the great work you do. I can't wait to start as a trainee train driver

I have only just found out that I made it through to the aptitude tests - on the 13th June I had received correspondence to say I was unsuccessful & on Monday 24th they sent me tests to do by Saturday!! So I had stopped practicing. I got your book but I am so frightened because I am struggling with the aptitude tests. I recently failed the concentration component for another freight train company - they told me there was nothing I could do to prepare - I sat the Vienna test . I am not sure what to expect of this new testing. I know I can become a train driver - but my mind is not great with numerical stuff & abstract reasoning however English & mechanical stuff I am excellent at . Thanks so much for your help. I would say application is hardest part to get past as over 20,000 people applied, before interview you do small tests home if passed do more tests at centre. You then do a MMI interview and then the main interview. Training around 18 months. A lot of questions are about working on your own, have you driven far distance etc as for me already on the railway helped.

Helpful video! I have passed the first stage of tests and now have 3 computer based tests followed by the MMI. Does anyone have any tips to help practice and prepare for the tests? In particular the test with the joysticks and ball/maze. I feel i can prepare for the other two tests as well as the interview but I am most concerned on that one test. Any help would be appreciated! UPDATE: I passed the computer tests, MMI and DMI and I am now in the talent pool awaiting a course date!
@CareerVidz Жыл бұрын
To prepare for the joystick and ball/maze computer test, focus on enhancing hand-eye coordination through activities like model building. Practice with similar online tests to get familiar with the format, prioritise precision over speed, and maintain calmness during the test. Incorporate short, regular practice sessions, and seek feedback to improve. Research the specific test to understand its objectives better and focus your preparation accordingly. I hope this helps!

You replies are perfect, and I will check it out and learn it, however I have to mention that this interviewing system is selecting people that are not real. I can’t remember specific situations on my work. I have successfully solved many problems and I have deal with a lot of people, but who remember specific situations? I am creative and can make it up, use the STAR system, is easy. My honest reply would be that I want the job because is well payed, is secure, I will be able to provide to my family, it has great perks and I enjoy driving. I am sure the vast majority feel the same, and it is a strong and important reply, as it is important to have security and be happy in your place of work. I am want to apply for the company that is close to where I live. I only have one option. Have you really helped the car accident? Surely they know is not real. I feel that companies are employing characters, the real person has complete different expectations and priorities.
