I'm 56. Have been a full time caregiver for my Mom for years. I have no life. I do not wish this on anyone. So depressed. It can be beyond challenging. My health mentally and physically is declining so fast now.. I wish I was 12 years old again.

Can’t you do something? Like a care home or something?

@@Melly16yr10 People ask me that.. The fact of the matter is every situation has its own multi layered dynamic.. This is not really an option for us. I do not wish it on anyone. It is an emotional and physically challenging journey . Thank you for your thoughts. I wish it was that easy. 😔

Dan and others who have commented, I understand your emotions and what you’re going through. I’m trying to start a caregiver support group as I’m caring for my Mom who suffers from sarcoidosis. If interested in a zoom call, please let me know and we can link up, I love my mother and honor her as you all are doing however it doesn’t mean it’s easy to do while you see your life change dramatically including your mental and physical state. I’m with you and again understand.

Dan I'm 61 and 3 years in alzheimers prison with mom. 41 years ago today, I was visiting the usmc base parris island. The challenges were a cake walk compared to alz. Mom don't know she's ill and I'm wilting under pressure and worry. Defensive battle that we won't win. I despise this disease. Keep fighting brother. Prayers and we'll wishes you're way.

Although informative the help suggested is not sufficient. An excellent HHA is vital but difficult to find. Support groups are few in our area and resources are not found. Navigating the health care system is a maze. Good nursing home options are not available in the Northeast. Deep breathing can only help so much.

Same here. I'm a single mom, an only child, with serious health problems of my own, and taking care of my Mother with alzheimer's. Also trying to help my 72 year old father who is mentally and physically exhausted too. Nobody could understand the drain, the overwheming sense of hopelessness, unless they have been a caregiver of someone with dementia. I feel like my life is over. We cannot afford a HHA. My parents may soon lose their life savings.

M Brewer Life savings is saved for proper care in aging. Lots of emotions with it no doubt but it’s what it’s there for. Why are you unable to afford nursing home care? Usually it’s an unwillingness to liquidate assets and that’s again part of the process

@@karagraham9764 Excuse me, you shouldn't have to "liquidate your assets" for proper care. An HHA costs more than they make in a month. Going through their savings and assets would bide them at most a year of care. Do you have any idea how much nursing care costs? Who are you to say what a person is supposed to use their savings for? My parents worked their fingers to the bone to put a few dollars in the bank for security. Need a new roof? A new well? Car repairs? Heating system? And God forbid, a little to enjoy as they see fit. I guess it's fair that they worked hard, paid their taxes, went without, only to lose their modest nest egg in a flash, while people who never saved, lived irresponsibly, get assistance like medicaid. Better yet, come to this country illegally and receive free care. Spare me your less than empathetic post.

M Brewer Contact your county’s Office of the Aging. There are social workers who can come and assess the need.

Yoga is Hinduism and if you believe in One God, don’t do it! This is serious sin as it breaks the 1st Commandment! All those positions are either names of gods or poses of worship. Let’s apply the Golden Rule to our Lord. At least do for God as you’d like done to you. If you don’t want your significant other cheating on you, don’t cheat on Him. Many people don’t realize all this, as I once didn’t either.
