What I love about this version - and it seems nobody else comments on this - are the style quotations. At 2:04 they move into a 12/8 shuffle. From 2:15 to 2:20 they play in 5/4, basically Paul Desmond's "Take Five", and then from 2:27 to 2:34 this is the Police's "Message in a Bottle". And after 7 seconds, straight back into the original. What a genius arrangement!!

I realize, watching these videos, that the piano is a lot more of a percussive instrument than I thought. It looks less like he's pressing individual keys to make notes, and more like his hands just have an idea of how they want to strike the area the keys lay in...and they just happen to hit all the tuned actuators. Really? I consider this, Talk Dirty to Me and Wake Me Up to be her greatest performances. There's a physical assuredness that's lacking in later works to my eye(could be wrong, more than happy to concede that). It's like she had the rug pulled out from under her and had to build herself up from scratch. Something happened, no idea what. It intrigues me greatly. PMJ is lesser without her involvement in my opinion
