My dear teacher, one of the most important lessons is I have taken away from this video is that the subtle variations from the background to the flowers 🌺 create something so simple yet very appealing to the eye. Using your hand to spread the paint...brilliant!

Excellent demonstration and teaching. I love the way you kept everything so simple without any kind of complicated process. The blow effect is brilliant idea and I don't think we can ever get the effect with brush. I must try it out. Since I am in India, there is going to be a challenge to find the right kind of material. Thank you.

Caren, I'm new to painting and use it for a stress reliever. I've been watching your pours, and they are so beautiful. I finally tried this for the first time....and learned about the desired consistency the hard way. I did not make it thin enough, and almost passed out trying to blow out the flowers. Lesson learned. My question is: for colors used frequently, can they be mixed in a capped squeeze bottle to preserve them? Not sure how long they will last after they are mixed with the pouring medium. Thank you for sharing your artistry with us. Very inspiring. Angelia
@carengoodrich7 жыл бұрын
Angelia Berkowitz yes you can pre-mix and store! No reason why it shouldn't last forever. The only thing I have found with stored mixes is that I often have to add a couple drops of water to it and stir. It seems to thicken slightly when it sits.

Is the Easy Flow similar to Floetral? I tried some of your flowers and had a blast. I got too carried away, though and used too much paint. But it worked out. Thanks for the great ideas!

I'm hooked on your videos. Think I bought everything on your supply list. Can't wait to get started making my own art. One question: About how long does it take for a painting to dry? Just an approximate. I know it depends on how much paint you use. Thanks for the inspiration. Your work is amazing.
@carengoodrich6 жыл бұрын
Cathy Cruz hi Cathy! About one/three days, depending on the weather and humidity where you live, and of course the thickness of your pour. Don’t hurry the drying process with heat, let it dry naturally. Have fun and I’m excited for you! Thanks for shopping on my amazon list! I appreciate it!
@natalieharris33387 жыл бұрын
hi caren! I was wondering if you have tried blowing the leaves as Well? I did in a recent picture and they looked quite cool! I made more of a line puddle...like an oval but not a lot of paint. would love to see you rendition of it!❤

"One thing you can learn as an artist is *_when to stop._* " Every art teacher I have had has told me I need to learn when to stop. It's been 15ish years and I still haven't figured it out :DD
@carengoodrich7 жыл бұрын
it's ok...it's not mandatory that you stop! Keep going, it's your painting, lol! You are figuring out what works for you!
@ReviewsAndMore97 жыл бұрын
The great thing about acrylic is you can keep going if you need to. Stop when you like what you see.
@noracrouch88227 жыл бұрын
you are still using silicone in each cup as well as the medium, correct? enjoy your presentations!
@mandrews22507 жыл бұрын
Although the 12" x 12" canvases are primed when you buy them, do you still put on a coat of gesso? Also, do you apply a varnish finish when your acrylic paintings are dry?
@denisealtenburg46565 жыл бұрын
How did you use your easy flow, in the colors? how much in each please?
@maddiec53417 жыл бұрын
Love this technique. Very simple but so effective.Tfs. Do you pre paint white on the panels before you pour any paint, just thinking that there will be bare canvas showing otherwise. Mx

You make it look so easy. I want o try this. Just picked up at Michaels a small bottle of flow control. How much should be mixed in? Thank You Dot
@carengoodrich7 жыл бұрын
Dot Imbro I'm not familiar with Flow Control but my approximate measurements are 1 part paint, 3 parts pouring medium, a dash of water and a few drops of silicone.

Caren, what is the difference between Easy Flow and Floetrol. Is one better than the other, and if so, why? I love your videos - I have tried some and get a lot of compliments. Thank you, Marsha P.
@Mirarockx7 жыл бұрын
It is the same thing! Only the one is in a different language than the other. :)
@CD-jb2ry7 жыл бұрын
I agree with Miranda... Floetrol in Europe and in North America its called Easy Flow.
@carengoodrich7 жыл бұрын
MARSHA PALMER in my previous video I talk about it. My comparisons are between the USA made Floetrol by Flood and the France made Easy Flow by Owatrol. I prefer Easy Flow.
@Heartwing377 жыл бұрын
C. Fabc it's Floetrol in America....Durieu Group owns both Flood and Owatrol. They claim that their Floetrol formula is the same for both distributors.
@CD-jb2ry7 жыл бұрын
Hi Laurie Ann Hunter, my answer was the same one by Owatrol. And as Caren Goodrich said, and lots of people prefer EasyFlow instead of Floetrol. :-)
@ReviewsAndMore97 жыл бұрын
Do you have to spread another color (such as white) on first or can you pour your circles straight onto a dry canvas and then blow? I realize the paint will spread better if canvas is wet already, but can it be done on a dry canvas too?
@carengoodrich7 жыл бұрын
Yes you can! I like the interaction on wet but there are instances where you might do dry.
@mandrews22507 жыл бұрын

I'm new at this...I loved your 4 flowers so I tried to do one. It doesn't want to dry, oily residue. I must have put too much silicone in the paint. Is there a way to remove the paint from the pallet after it has dried?
@jerrieclapp6697 жыл бұрын
I should have said paint off a canvas. I am really enjoying your tutorials. Thank you
@carengoodrich7 жыл бұрын
Do you mean remove the silicone? You have to let the painting dry for several days, the silicone will rise to the top and you wipe it off. You can use water/dish soap on a paper towel. Just be sure your painting is plenty dry, give it several days.
@nicolamertens72236 жыл бұрын
Or wipe off the silicone and pour over a new pour
