Oh, Miriam you bring tears to my eyes. It is so hard. I tried to take care of my mother when she became crippled with rheumatoid arthritis but I was unable to and she ended up living her last years in a nursing home. It was so hard, working full time and have zero support from anyone. You are one of the nicest most beautiful people in the world.

The first time I saw her she shocked me and I didn't like her, but over the years I realised she was just being honest and is a very warm and kind lady with enthusiasm for life and gives allot back. She makes me laugh. And we all need a laugh. Sorry for your loss mirium.

My daughter experienced the same emotions and held me down when I was going through an episode of hysteria. It hurt deeply and I asked her never to do that again. However I too forgave her knowing where it came from and the fact she is my daughter. On the flip side I spanked my daughter very hard when she was a toddler as I was stressed and frustrated. I had an early morning meeting and was running behind time. I wanted her to move quicker. To this day, more than 22 years later I am still angry with myself for not handling the situation more calmly.

I tried to look after my mother while working and trying to keep my own home life together. It was impossible and the reasons I put her into care were twofold: she was selfish and mentally cruel to me all her life, and I got so close to venting all my frustrations on her, I knew if I did nothing then she would be dead and I would be in prison. There are loads of us who understand this, Miriam. Thank you for starting the conversation.

You could tell she was about to cry just hearing her talk about hitting her mother.

That took some amount of courage to admit that and the guilt she must feel. Alas whilst wrong, anger is a very human emotion in times of stress. It’s better to face head on, your error, then you can eradicate it. Hopefully she can advert someone else from doing the same and can learn from her mistake.

If her mother was not mentally well, then she was incapable of forgiveness. I certainly won't forgive Margolyes for striking her mother. Horrible woman.

You are such hypocrite whoever you are. I am quite sure you have never cared for anyone but yourself. You can’t hold a candle to Miriam and she doesn’t need the forgiveness from the likes of you. Take a good long look in the mirror and be ashamed of yourself and your nasty two bit comment troll.
