Carey Mulligan - The Great Gatsby Interview HD

Carey Mulligan, The Great Gatsby - Carey Mulligan literally burst into tears when she found out she got the part of Daisy Buchanan in Baz Luhrmann's The Great Gatsby. A fan of F. Scott Fitzgerald's classic novel and the original film starring Robert Redford and Mia Farrow, Mulligan was thrilled to sink her teeth into the role that could very well define her career.
Tribute.ca spoke with Carey in New York about her preparation to play Daisy, having Leonardo DiCaprio as her leading man, working with director Baz Luhrmann and her upcoming film, Inside Llewyn Davis, directed by the Coen Brothers.
The Great Gatsby movie synopsis:
Nick Carraway (Tobey Maguire), a young man from Minnesota, moves to New York to learn about the bond business. He rents a house in the swanky West Egg district of Long Island. He eventually meets his neighbor Jay Gatsby (Leonardo DiCaprio) and gets caught up in his world of extravagant parties and people.
Based on the novel by F. Scott Fitzgerald, this story deals with the allure of fame and fortune, as well as the unbreakable bond of first love.

A huge part of what makes a movie is casting. That being said, this movie did as good of a job of casting as I've ever seen. The characters didn't really have to change their personalities to be believable. Huge success IMO.
