John Eldredge on Living at an Unsustainable Pace, What Men and Women Most Long For, and How to Get Your Soul and Life Back
When John Eldredge's Wild at Heart came out 20 years ago, it struck a chord that continues to reverberate decades later about the message men and women most need to hear. John talks about his own unsustainable pace, what the internet is doing to our souls, and how to live your life at a pace your soul can sustain.

Really loved this interview. I watched all six of John‘s videos on the topic of, “getting your life back“. Absolutely loved it. He is such a gift to the body of Christ. Thank you again.

I've been living with a flip phone for over a year now. I hardly text. In January I deleted FB (a page now with zero/0 Friends), Twitter (over 1,000 followers--gone), and read only one email of news delivered to me in the morning. I do not read any main stream media anymore. All this, and I didn't even read his book, but I would endorse it. We need a revolution to de-digitalize ourselves. Return to analogue. It's the post-modern, new sickness unto death. Great interview.

Listening to this a year later. Did Carey finish his book he was referencing? The one about villages and 140 people vs mass numbers?

3:50 Every little boy has one question, “Do I have what it takes, do I have a strength, do I have a competency, do I have a gifting?” *“When I am called upon, can I come through?”* That is the masculine question. 8:50 Majority of women executives said they would trade their success for a wonderful relationship. Women are relationally wired, they’re experts at it. 41:00 Beauty heals trauma, beauty heals the soul 41:55 We spend 93% of our lives indoors now (WHO report). Dirt and microbiomes improve human immune systems. The immune difficiency crisis and all of the autoimmune disorders are because we’ve become detached from nature - we live in plastic worlds now. *Make it a priority to get outside every day.* 44:00 Get pretty good ideas and inspiration when you’re outside taking part in active meditation

Are you a hunter for sport or food, John?

Neither...He's a hunter for life. It is in the veins of all men, a gift from our Father in heaven.

Had to stop this one early. Seemed like we were headed down the gender wars path.

This was a great conversation. It tells something if you were triggered by it, and not able to openly listen to what John had to say.
