I have been a woodworker and hand tool enthusiast for almost 20 years, and still the precision with which some people handle a hatchet is astonishing to me. I’ve always seen a hatchet as being good for only the crudest of work but clearly this is not the case. Looks like I have a lot of practice ahead of me.

As far as separate channel question… guess it depends. We wrestle with that question too. But in the end it’s part of who you are and what you show on the road is who you are and how you spend your time doing what most dream to do. So, I’d say keep it in the same channel but create a prominent playlist that is both accessible and searchable.

I really appreciate this video because I've been trying to figure out how to make Wooden Spoons without any tools and everybody makes it look really really difficult but this video tutorial was actually pretty easy I think I'm going to give it a shot for myself

Glad it helped. Reach out if you need any tips. So much little things. Tools, sharpening, wood, etc. check out my Instagram @careycarving. The only reason i started Instagram was to learn from other carvers there. So much info there.

Dave, you got me started carving spoons as you know. My wife wants me to keep them I sanded as you do, but I can’t help myself. I just did a dish out of sugar maple and the finish was like glass. YES start a channel, as I am a big fan of yours. I split a piece of maple and did a spoon (I called it a spoonchala). Spoon and spatula. And the serving dish. You keep me inspired. David and Juanita aka Grey Goose Adventures… btw, we live a mile south of Marineland near Flagler Beach.

Some wood is just meant to be sanded;) I’ve sanded some Mesquite and it is amazing and won’t fuzz up when wet like others will when sanded. We know Flagler beach well. We’ll be in Florida quite a bit this winter so maybe we’ll see you around!;)

Nice. Enjoyed watching the process. Great it is a craft that can go with you. Beautiful. I’d watch a carving channel. The work table is great also.
