Henry Catchpole is my most favourite car journalist. He's got a unique blend of enthusiasm, knowledge, skills and composure. He always reviews cars within their relevant context while most other journalists use some benchmarks to artificially compare and classify them. Well done Henry!
@mnapoletano77236 жыл бұрын
And what does Henry use to compare cars? His subjective impressions. How is that not artificial? "The dampers now have more breath to them" Oh shut up you pretentious twat.

You sir are absolute top notch! And Carfection should have been first to have a go in the 992, not JWW. I know alot of blokes like him and all but he isn't even in the same league as Mr. Catchpole. Thank you sir.
@davepuma15376 жыл бұрын
I would imagine everyone (proper journalists and youtubers) get access at the same time but as you can probably imagine, carfection take time to produce their content as it has to be written and edited professionally. The youtubers have to cater for 10 year olds with 5 minute attention spans so if they don't churn out their content every day or so, their audience go off and play Fornite. I can just about put up with JWW in short doses but none of the vloggers can match a proper car journalist like Mr. Catchpole. Sorry if that offends any fans of the vloggers but a GoPro and a youtube channel is no subsitute for a proper journalistic background (or talent).

Brilliant review, Mate! Being someone as old as the 911 moniker itself, to my eyes, this is the most beautiful 911 yet mainly due to the visually wider stance it has both from the front & the rear. Porsche engineers have indeed delivered yet another masterpiece, in my opinion.

Steven James I love everything about this car. The new LED Matrix is a masterpiece in and of itself. I’m not so much worried about how it looks to look into the lights as I am about how it functions properly. The numerous lights picks and chooses what to illuminate. Leave it on “high”, as I understand it, and it’ll self-dim individual little lights so as to not be in oncoming cars’ faces, or on reflective signs (stop, yield, etc.). I do have the new 992 C4S, Guards Red, very nicely optioned, ordered. It’s currently sitting in customs in Houston, TX. Release date from there is Aug 26. Then on to Kansas City Porsche for dealer prep and more ordered Porsche holding until end of Sept.

Christopher O'Grady honestly, I think the exterior will age just fine: There is no clutter, all the lines are elegant, and as long as you don’t drive about with the spoiler in its most extended stage, it’ll be a looker, that will possibly be as timeless as the 993

@avigator6 жыл бұрын
@hans christian Sivertsen, the concerns are not about the mechanical stuff, but about all the electronics and software built into the car. Today’s microchips will be hopelessly outdated in 20 years time. Porsche basically needs to put enough spare parts in stock today to be able to provide them in the future. In aerospace this is called obsolescence management. Is Porsche doing that?

The cockpit wraps around the driver in a way that cant be seen on pictures and video. 3.) The new door levers are really cool. I was worried initially but when you open the car it has a reaally "good" feel to it. AMAZING car; just when you think it cant be better, IT IS

For the first time since 2011, I'm actually happy to see a new Porsche. I know every Porsche model is "better" than its predecessor, but the 991 was a big step backward for enthusiasts IMO. It seems like the last 8 years at Porshe has just been increasing blandness, size, expense, luxury, and anonymity from what has long been my favorite car company. Even if the cars are still good, they just seem more dull than all the predecessors. But with the 992, I actually have to hold up my hand and say: I am seeing a Porsche launched by the VW-controlled company, and I like it more than the previous model. This is the very first time that has happened!!!
