I'm a cabinetmaker. I've worked in aviation & on boats. You've done a very nice job. I like what you did. The only thing I'd do differently would be to use (non-aviation) honeycomb material to build the cabinets with. It's about 1/3 the weight with the same rigidity/strength as wood/particle board.

Talk to my wife I want to have a telescoping cargo trailer double axle..... to my Ram 1500 Hemi with a 8' Granby shell. pop up camper.....never been done before. The kitchen will have 10 feet L shaped counter top with 200 gallon capacity and 5 feet of tool and camping storage at the back. and shower room pull out of back = 30' total counting my top Granby bed area. I design Amish will build. The wife worries it won't be as good as the crap on the market......Real wood baby with solid build and a HEMI that works without a diesel F 250 F350 F450 rebuild and those stupid fucking Turbos that burn out if you do any of the 5 things wrong. I've been into camping since 1965 and I rarely see anything that has what I want or if it does I need $ 144,000 to buy it.

The nicest toy hauler/cargo conversion i've seen yet. Very clean looking and the cabinets look great. If that stove/oven ever fails it looks like it would be a pain to get out. Only thing I'd change is the stereo. Space considerations, i'd probably go with a Sound Blaster Roar 2. They put out alot of sound for their size and very multi purpose. I'd consider putting a couple hammocks and mounting points for the 2 kiddos underneath the main bed as they take up zero space and are comfortable. Great job.
@donsdoityourself2547
@donsdoityourself2547 6 жыл бұрын
Thanks Chad. Stove would not be easy to get out, but all the repairable parts are easily accessed. Burners, regulators, etc... all remove from the top and inside the oven. The rest is just the steel box. I could get it out, but I'd have to remove the sink and counter top.

You did a really nice job Don. I like your layout. I'm beginning a build-out on an 18' x 7' Stealth Titan SE, same like yours. It's not going to be a Toy Hauler though. I intend to live in it full-time. I opted to use the whole front for 4 6 volt batteries, the LP tanks, and fuse box, inverters etc... mounted on a bulkhead wall. the A/C will also be a wall mount setup similar to yours with the back end utilizing that space above and shelves on both sides built forward in the V section. I'll keep an eye out if you post any videos using it, or showing mods. I'm not big on filming, so you'll likely not ever see mine.

I saw that, and I ordered mine with a foot more sides, so it'll be 7' inside, and I think I'll put a bunk right above the bed. I saw you still used a queen bed and those things take up a ton of real estate in these trailers. I opted for a full bed.

Just got a grey truck matching 14×7 cargo with 5 30x15 screen windows,camper style side door ,insulated, finished ceiling. Trailer has the ramp back door. I put a wooden nice screen door and tongue and grove finished wall as you open the ramp door which will be finished as a outdoor deck.The inside I created a log cabin style home inside ,I believe it would be one of the best on here.Complete with snowshoes,miniature sled ,hand made quilt, memory foam mattress, shower,2 door refrigerator freezer, and a toilet you use but you take it out in a bag.I kept the electric simple one heavy duty plug in front ,one in the back for the up graded window unit.If I can get someone to show me how to put it on utube, as I said I believe it to be pretty nice and original.

Excellent job dude! Everything you need. The quality you put into it looks like you could make a living fixing them up and selling them.

awesome build! exactly how I would build mine if I had a few more feet lol (6 x 12 ). the angled shower wall is perfect since it's a 24x24. the polished diamond plate around the ac and the polished metal cabinet edges are also great touches. the back half is perfect too. toy hauler/work trailer is my passion. enjoy that baby Don !

If you ever do another one of these I'd recommend going with an all aluminum trailer from RNR trailers in Three Rivers, Michigan. They sell aluminum trailers for a fraction of Featherlite. A 7.5 x 14 sells for $8000, half of Featherlite. No rust super lightweight. Great job!

As most have already said great work!! I've searched all I can find and you're designs and lay out is worth trying to duplicate. Like many have said the rv industry is disposal it seems. The working man needs things to last.

Great Job! This a very beautiful and so well done, you included everything that one needs & or wants in a home away from home or full time home. As a woman I engoy watching these DIY conversion projects, I would include (for myself ) a washer/dryer unit all in one,they are small,cheap to run and so convenient, they wash,then dry. Some truckers get them in their trucks, esp if it's a couple trucking state to state. Anyhow that's me, but you've done a fantastic job. 5 thumbs up.

Donald, this is one of the best conversions I've ever seen. I really like the way you've done the kitchen and bathroom. well done! And the water supply will make life easy. I was also impressed with the size of the fridge. all in all you have done a great job there, and have given me some ideas for my conversion. thank you for taking the time to post your work, and i'm sure you will have years of fun from the time you took to do a quality job.
