There were badly destroyed aNd looted in the 1800-1900s so now they just resemble a large hills. Stop by Cahokia Illinois and moundville Alabama, these were some of the largest cities in North America with beautiful pyramids.

Not that hard to repurpose a building. You're going to see more buildings like office towers become urban housing. The COVID Pandemic showed that remote work was feasible. The next real estate crisis will be office towers that no longer have business tenants!!!

Glad to see you both back in action! I’m working on contracting directly with a shipper, to get away from the dice rolling game of chance while getting runs under a broker/carrier’s authority. Not only because business has been slow for over a year. Also because they don’t necessarily run me in the most profitable way. For me, the owner-operator. It’s been great to see all of the lower 48 states, at least once during the past year and a half. Money was great in 2022. Half as much in 2023. So, have to pivot to stay afloat. I’ve even signed up on some “gig apps” make some additional revenue when I’m at home. The ideal scenario, as long as I’m in this hustle, is to have an ongoing direct contract with a shipper, or combination of shippers, that will run me in circles. No, deadheads. Except maybe coming and going from home. Direct contracting will enable directly negotiating the rate and all other parameters. Leaving no mystery or surprises and making 100% of every load aka more money. And far greater peace of mind. I’ll keep you posted. Be well and God Bless, Vincenzo

Grossing $5k weekly sure but not netting. Those trucks get 12-14mpg if that. I know people who do it. I can gross $5k in a week too as owner operator. It’s not much different from box truck sure you make more but the net is about the same.

What mileage you get on a full tank? I do a pretty much local route 350 miles max a day and I’m spending about 75 a day. My van gas not diesel thoe. It’s prolly cause I drive pretty fast tbh

This isn’t my van it’s a loaner it’s diesel and if I drive 65 or so I get about 450 miles my gas van gets what you get maybe a little better cuz it’s highway. I wanna transition to more local stuff once I get up and running again. Where are you based out of?

@@ExpeditingAmerica I’m in Indiana some of the companies I worked for that you should look into and they pay very well. Spoke logistics there based out of Cali but when I look on indeed they have job around the country minimum pay for almost every job I seen them post was 1200 a week but most are more. Highest I seen was 1600 a week it was in Kentucky. The company I work for now is bee line delivery based in Kentucky but have routes in Indiana where I’m working out of. When you did the breakdown you said total was 875 with a 100 of it being a driver assist, does the owner get part of the assist? That never seems right to me. Your doing the work why would he get part of it.

Yeah technically that money gets paid to the van. As the driver I get 60% of what the van grosses total. I agree tho it doesn’t seem right but it’s what I agreed to

@ExpeditingAmerica well as long as everything else is kosher and your happy then that's all that matters. You seem to get a pretty good rate so it balances out
