Of all the great songs from the movie Return Of The Living Dead, I remember this one the most and it is my favorite.

Man, I bought this album when it came out in '86. I had been waiting on it because a friend of mine was a casual acquaintance of Roky's down there. She would run into him twice a year and he said he was working on an album for like 3 years, as it turned out. He started recording it in late 1982 and the album was finally released in 1986. I'm not complaining because back then, I'd wait 10 years for some Roky tunes. Just glad things were finally turning the corner (a little bit) there in mid-80s. I wore this record out along with the Aliens albums. What a cool record to groove on when you are at a higher consciousness. I was in Sugarland, TX the day he passed and so bummed. But being in Texas, the jukebox at the bar didn't disappoint, as it had the Elevators and Roky's stuff there alongside Stoney LaRue, Randy Rogers, Reckless Kelly and all the ALT/Outlaw Country people I have been into for 20 years now. So I played 6 songs of Roky and Elevators. Guy behind the bar says "man I know you ain't from around here because you ain't got no drawl to your voice. I told him that's true, btut if I hang out down here more than 2 days, I'll have it. I'm from Chicago area. He says "Then how the fuck do you know all these local guys you are playing? I mean, you put in Bleu Edmondson and Jason Boland earlier..no one from Chicago knows them." I said "incorrect. We real music fans go where the music takes us...and it has taken me to Red Dirt country and yeah-I had an affair with a lady who was in school in 1966 down there and knew them personally. She opened my eyes to the vastness of the musical universe that gets discarded by the sheeple. RIP Roky! We all know who the first psychedelic band was, and it was from Austin, TX, not SF, CA!

Here I sit A vampire at my piano The flames burn glaringly higher And the eyes that stare through the darkness Though they have no form There's no need for alarm So burn, so burn Burn the flames higher and higher So burn, burn the flames Never to expire Here I sit A skeleton at my organ The candles in my candelabra burning hellishly, hellish hell And the laughter unending echoes through the haunted house A little Christmas spirit Ghostly haunting deadly spirit Every creature is stirring Even the mouse So burn, so burn Burn the flames higher, higher, higher, and higher So burn, burn the flames Never to expire So burn Burn the flames higher, higher, higher, and higher So burn, burn the flames Never to expire Here I sit myself at my instruments Here they sit at their instruments And the music fills and fills Terrifies, horrifies, forever scares The children of the night What music we make So burn, so burn Burn the flames higher and higher So burn, burn the flames Never to expire

Roky was a legend even after the 13th Floor Elevators, just wish he had not been hounded by Texas authorities for being true to himself.

I just got the movie after watching it when I was a kid over 20 years ago. Fucking hero. Frank is one of my favorite Zombie characters ever. Even though the Zombie outbreak was his fault, he sacrificed his life to save his wife and his friends' lives.
