I have a 21 plate Sorento, HEV in 2 trim. Love the car and obv chose that over the previous gen Santa Fe. But now I think I’d swap, the Sorento hasn’t moved on enough. It’ll still be great but the Santa Fe seems more special (rear end withstanding!). As it happens I’m getting the EV9 next, and the Santa Fe looks much closer to that than this Sorento. Great review.

I have owned them both, I had the non-facelift new Sorento for three years now I have the Santa Fe. In my opinion the Santa Fe wins particularly in refinement and fit and finish. The Sorento suffers from the dreaded Piano Black plastic and I am really not fan, feels cheap and is a nightmare for finger prints and scratches. Also I had a lot of issues with the panoramic sun roof in the Sorento after a few months the thing creaks and rattles annoyingly as the rubbers age. Dealer experience I feel is better with Hyundai than Kia in my experience of the two. Both good cars, the Santa Fe easily has the edge though.

Agree. Jogger offers better comfort in 3rd row, better maneuverability (30 cm shorter) and better fuel consumption. Yes, you get more tech in Kia/Hyundai and better comfort for first two rows but is it worth doubling the price? For hauling I'd take Kodiaq with 2l diesel.

Sorento looks boring and old. Santa Fe offers something quite unique - it has vibes of the Discovery 4 about it and that rear cabin space is so much nicer and airy compared to the cramped looking Sorento.
