Can one really trust the Dekra report though..? Last week one guy bought a car there and after two days the car broke down. Only to find out that there's a lot (major issues) that was not mentioned on the report. That's why I'm asking.

Great question, so the Dekra report (according to most people) is not accurate, but it will give you more or less an idea of in what state the vehicle is. So I suggest, take a look at the Dekra report, but don't rely too much on it. If I had to buy a 2nd hand car here, I'll take a mechanic with

Let us put matters wrt the 1994 1.3 VW Shuttle into perspective. In 1995 a 1.6 VW Shuttle cost R41 300.00 and that people was for a Brand-new car. In short. I will not pay R20 000.00 for that thing. So the cost price you see on the sticker is based on a 10% deposit, so if the car cost R100 000, then they display it as R90 000 ( that includes the 10% deposit ), hope this helps
