3:21 I work at an O'Reilly Auto Parts store and can confirm that is a dealer sample oil filter used to illustrate its build construction. It's primarily for Installer Service Specialists to show to commercial customers to help sell them. They were originally supposed to be labeled with a MSL57502-CUT part number to signify it is a cutaway but were shipped in normal boxes. As soon as I saw the employee bulletin about the mistake I knew it was a statistical certainty that some were going to end up sold as regular filters. Cool to see one out in the wild. BTW, I've cut apart every brand of filter we sell and a bunch of others and can confidently say that those Microgard Selects are the best filters we currently sell, especially amongst spin-on canister filters. Wipes the floor with K&N, Mobil 1, Mopar, Motorcraft, AC Delco, you name it. They have a silicone base gasket and anti-drainback valve instead of nitrile rubber for better resistance against heat degradation, super high quality filter media that's evenly spaced, and a thick powder coated canister that's easy to grip and has an extremely hight burst pressure rating. The only filter that we sell with a thicker case wall is the WIX Racing filters, and that's only by .001"(.020 vs .021). The rest hover between .0125-.015". This is coming from the filter that is our second cheapest option after the basic Microgard. EXTREME value for money. All of my coworkers have switched to them and we recommend them to anyone who'll listen. They're only rated for 10,000 miles, but are built better than Mobil 1, K&N, and the NEW WIX XP filters which are all rated at 20,000. Slice 'em open and all the marketing BS becomes plain as day.

I seen a guy do an oil filter comparison. I was surprised at how well the mobile 1, and high end Fram filters did. And the high cost filters weren't as good. They pumped oil through the filters and measured the amount and time it took. They used old oil and cut the filters open to see which filters stopped the most dirt. A very interesting video.

I have to wonder if that's the problem w the brakes in my older car. They sometimes sound like they're grinding. But I got new rotors n pads not too long ago. It was a midas shop that did it, I think. So your argument holds no sway w me. I'm not an electrician or mechanic, but I did the pads on my other vehicle n they work perfect.
