I’m a Navy brat… A boat is any watergoing vessel. A ship is a large oceanfaring watercraft (multiple sails or engines). A boat is small enough to be carried on a ship and a ship is large enough to carry a smaller vessel- or as my dad says “you can put a boat on a ship but you can’t put a ship on a boat.” 😊 Fair winds and following seas!

I find this so ironic! We are off on a Celebrity Cruise end of this month and it will be our first time sailing Celebrity. I just saw your last video of the NYE cruise in 2019 and it is the exact ship we are going on! Did you guys do the online check in and how did that process go? I have been watching you guys for years now. So excited for yall!

Just a note about pilots on ship's from what i understand from the cruises that I've been on the pilot usually provides guidance to the captain and the bridge crew. There are only two places in the world where they actually take over the ship and that's in the Suzie canal and the Panama canal otherwise the crew is still in charge of the vessel and can if they feel that the safety of the vessel and the people on board requires them to take over, i actually saw that happen on a show on the discovery Channel about cruise ships.

I've been on at least 4 cruises and I never knew that about the small boat and separate pilot to drive the ship in and out of the port. Thanks for the info.
