This is my neck of the woods. ☺️ The Wright Brothers are buried in Dayton, and I take my son up to visit and pay our respects often. Also, visit the Wright Patt Air Force Museum, it's free and it's enormous!

Hey Jacob cool to see you in my home state enjoying what we have to offer. I love carillon park as it reminds me of greenfield village in Michigan. I grew up going to greenfield village and miss it tremendously. I live just south of Carillon park behind kings island. If you want to film anything together I’m always free. I really enjoyed meeting you that one year at mothman festival.

Carousels, especially historical ones, are definitely in my list of top favorite things. This one is really unique. I love it. I’d ride in the old timey cash register for sure. I imagine Jacob has been to Greenfield Village in MI? They have a beautiful carousel, train, ferry boat, and vintage vehicle rides. There’s a Wright Brothers exhibit too.

Jacob the elevator on a plane helps the plane go up and down. You will see it normally below the Tail section. Then again some planes have what's called a rudder-vator on the tail, and those are usually very large aircraft. Great vid as always Jacob.

In 2011 I was able to visit a factory tour of the company that made the carousel, Carousel Works in Mansfield, OH. Seeing this video I recognized a few of the figures and I looked back through my photos and I realized some of them were the ones being worked on while I was there. The Scipio Dog, potato chip bag and Iams bag ones were partially completed at the time, as was the cash register chariot. It was an awesome and fascinating tour and they created new carousels as well as restored old ones. Unfortunately it looks like the company filed for bankruptcy last year, I always hoped I could return to see it again.

Neither John Patterson nor his brother "invented" the cash register; it was invented by James Ritty, a saloon keeper. The Patterson brothers bought his paten and created the "National Cash Register Company" (later rechristened "NCR"). John Patterson was the most amazing salesman and actually developed a school for salesmen.

i think it was townsends that did a video on the brewery last year. marion's has awesome pizza, very locally famous. next time you come around, let me know and i'll take you to frankenstein's tower and for a pizza. i'll show you where the last gypsy king of dayton is interred while you eat some esther price, probably the best candy you'll ever eat. mike sells is dayton, sometimes you can buy mike sells potato chips dipped in esther price chocolate. i personally hate it, but some folk love it. dayton has built tons and tons of stuff, known for a lot of things, and home of countless inventors. however, we obviously didn't invent animatronics. fun fact, not far from dayton was the first time a bar code was ever scanned for retail. dayton, aside from once being a manufacturing and tool and die hub, dayton had a lot of printers. what made dayton so attractive was I-75 intersects with I-70 close by, so these crossroads made transportation very accommodating. i don't know if anyone actually knows why dayton is nicknamed 'the gem city,' but one theory is that it's a jewel in the crown of 'the queen city,' cincinnati's nickname (cincy is south of dayton).
