I don't know if I would ever figure out how to get the proper protein moisture balance. Right now I just use moisturizing products and sometimes they have protein in them way down on the ingredients list and I just leave it at that. I figure if I find the right amount of protein or if I add protein, it'll just start breaking before I realize is too much. You look good Keisha, good to see you, hugs to the babies!

It's recommended that protein treatments me carried out every 6 weeks...so at least that should give an indication of how often that should be done so that you're not over doing it. But, to recognize if your hair has too much protein is usually indicated by excess breakage; especially if you aren't maintaining a moisturizing routine. And thank you Sable ❤

@@kieshaarielle okay so don't scold me but I shampoo about once a month so I guess every 8 weeks might be okay and maybe I should rephrase the question the other way, how do I know if I have too much moisture? Right now I'm not experiencing any breakage but I'm not doing a whole lot to my hair either during this pandemic. I just braided up and then put on a head wrap everyday. Of course I Spritz with water and moisturize until the next shampoo. And by the way I'm still waiting for you to get that avocado recipe for me that you said would ensure that I'd like avocado. I think it was something you put on a sandwich.😉

That's fine if you shampoo your hair once a month, I used to wash my hair once a month; but since I was dealing with these flakes I changed up my routine which has improved my scalp health. Well, since you mentioned that you maintain a moisturizing routine between wash days, and you aren't dealing with breakage then I wouldn't worry about moisture protein balance. That aside it's still good to schedule in a protein treatment every 6-8 weeks 😊 I actually remember that...I think it was a Avocado smoothie mix I had mentioned. I thought I gave you the recipe at the time. I will have to find my recipe and message you with it

@@kieshaarielle that's so funny, I think we talked about that avocado whatever like 29 years ago!😂😂😂 I don't know why I thought it was some kind of sandwich spread or something on toast. Anyway I don't even know what kind of protein treatment to select. I know that coconut oil acts like a protein and my hair doesn't seem to like it unless I'm going to rinse it out after an hour or so, therefore, I use it as just a pre poo. I just wish I could find something that would eliminate so much shrinkage after I stretched my hair period on my birthday Ulta beauty gave me something called living proof styling cream that is supposed to prevent frizz but the demonstration was done on someone who doesn't have the same texture of hair as I do and I'm not certain that frizz is shrinkage. For five years I have really not use any heat and although I cover my hair now when going out, don't want any virus dropping on it LOL, there are sometimes I would like to be able to wear a style that I like and have it not shrink into a different style before a couple of hours have gone by.

The sandwich...I know what you're talking about. I did a video showing how I spread the avocado on the toast/bread and then put mushrooms on top and you said you were gonna try it lol. Here is the video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/maaQpmiYaqedgrs GreenBeauty here on KZbin has her own Protein Treatment product which can be bought on her website.
