I’ve been wearing my hair natural and consistently for about 3 years now. I am > 60 and I’m just grateful for the hair that I have on my head! When I was younger I had a shoulder length head of full thick hair. Not so much anymore. I’ve mourned the loss of that thick hair and recognize that all is fleeting in this life. ❤ yourself and just be happy and grateful for your individual locks on your one of a kind head.

Fine hair, low density babe here 🙋🏽♀️ Totally agree with everything you've said. I enjoy being able to just part my hair into 4 sections, moisturise it and slap on a wig and it doesn't look too bulky 💛

I have fine hair and you nailed it on the head with the benefits. I love thick hair but I couldn't manage it. I have a relative with fine hair and very high density I could just about do their hair it was difficult. There one thing I don't like people confuse fine hair with thin hair they're two different things. Thin hair is when the parts are very wide and you can see the person's scalp easily.

I just recently learned the difference between fine and thin hair, so I'm sure that most (other) people are living with misconceptions. Fine/coarse has to do with the thickness of each hair strand. Thin/thick has to do with how many strands there are across the whole head.

Having fine hair is such a PITA though. I’ve been trying to grow out my hair for YEARS, and if i slip up for one or two weeks, it sets me back for months. I just wish my hair was a little bit less fragile.

I have medium to high density hair, and one thing people often forget is that dense hair is not just dense on your head. It's also dense on your arms, legs, face, etc. I love my hair now, but a dense head of hair for me came at a huge cost. I know that's not true for everyone with high density, but it is for me. Managing body hair can be extremely tedious, but I've learned how to manage it over the years, so now I'm happy with my hair density.

To prevent confusion, we should use these terms: For individual strands: FINE strands> medium strands> COARSE strands For whole head of hair/ density: THIN>medium density>THICK Personally, i have very fine strands, yet medium to thick density. The challenge i face is that heat can easily damage my fine strands, yet in its 4c curly state, it's very thick and i struggle to put it in a woogie unless it's stretched. Pro with my hair: because it's fine, it can stretch easily without heat, so twists. And since it's medium to thick density, twistouts look very full and voluminous. 🎉😊

I'm a part of the fine hair team too and I agree that fine hair definitely has a lot of advantages. I spend enough time on my hair as is, I don't want to spent more hours on it. Like you said, thicker hair is always promoted as the best type of hair to have. But there's absolutely nothing wrong with fine hair....it's the hair God blessed us with and it should be embraced. I think it's great that you touched on this topic. It will definitely encourage others, and hopefully, more women will talk about this important subject. Take care and be blessed in Jesus' name!

The longest part of my hair reaches between lower spine to tailbone length. I'm thankful to Jehovah through His Son Jesus for the hair on my head and I agree that thicker fuller hair may be celebrated but the time energy effort and amount of products needed to maintain that hair type Lord bless 'em who has it. Yes genetics plays a roles . However the older we get our density thins out. Sometimes , hormone fluctuations and inflammation can do it also. I am going through lots of pain and have a HUUUUGE FIBROID PROTRUDING , to the point I look 6 mo. Pregnant. So my hair is taking toll. Even though it's trying to grow , it starts thinning out and I can't get it past lower bra strap. Some areas are much longer like 3 in. From tailbone and other parts at the point I mentioned. I've had to cut sections of hair off due to thinning, and that part is at 5-6in. Doesn't bother me , too much, (sometimes it does) I have notice for side note, years ago ( 17yrs now) Before the whole hair movement , when I had my own hair in singles , she grew exceptionally, in one year, new hairs grew in, so my fine hair appeared thicker, So my ancestors came back in numbers but strands were still baby fine.
