I know this is a year old, but it was really helpful! I was giving a beautiful Gerbera Daisy plant. I had a terrible headache when I got home that night, and forgot the plant. It stayed in the back seat of my car all night, and that night, in the 3rd week of April we got a foot of snow! And it went down into the 20's F. The poor daisy actually wasn't as bad off as I had expected. I trimmed off some bottom leaves that were brown or damaged, and I also trimmed off the flowers which didn't look very good. It's thriving in my window now in the first week of May with lots of new leaves and the ones that survived from before being nice and healthy.. But I had no idea how to go about regular maintenance of the plant, and I really want it to bloom again! I've seen sites that had advice like watering tips and suggesting plant food, but none has been as helpful as this one, showing exactly what to do to trim the plant when it's needed. Thank you!

I BOUGHT A BIG ONE TODAY WITH 5 FLOWERS ON IT.. 3 DEAD... FOR ONLY 6 BUCKS ON CLEARANCE. TOOK IT HOME PRUNED IT WASHED THE LEAVES AND GAVE IT WATER AND IT LOOKS GORGEOUS!

Not sure what kind of stores you have access to, but I just bought a cpl with 6 bloomed flowers and 2-4 baby flowers growing at the base from Lowe’s. They’re only $5 each😄 If you have a Lowe’s nearby check them out.

What kind of ph does the soil need to be? What kind of fertilizer and can seeds be planted any time? What causes the flowers to be more vivid in color? What kind of soil is preferred? Thank you.

Neutral to basic ph. The color comes from seed selection.

Leave them. They will not harm the plant. If they are unsightly, you can remove from the surface and discard the growth.

Drop and droop can be caused by a few things. Most common is poor water technique. Always water at the edges of the pot of possible. Gerberas do not like over head watering or water directly in the center of the plant
