I was diagnosed in Jan 2022 with hEDS. . because of the confidence I have in prolotherapy after learning from Caring Medical, and watching YOU heal so incredibly fast...., on Oct 12 I will start my first prolotherapy treatment on my neck for c1/c2 instability in Canada. Hey Rachel, wishing you the best with treatments. I went caring a little over two years ago for similar although less severe neck instability. I’ve done four treatments at this point and while I can’t say I am 100% back to normal, I’m Much more stable and have far fewer episodes of neck pain flareups. I’m hoping to go out there again soon to get some maintenance. So glad you have your husband there with you during all of this. The treatments themselves can be a little intense.

I have chronic pain and I see a chiropractor for ART (Active Release Technique) which is very similar to what that chiropractor does. It’s more about release of tension and stopping the pull of my joints one way or the other. I literally can’t survive without them now. He does some slight manipulations on me because I have a lot of rib movement causing me a lot of pain. I’m SO happy for you that this sounds like you are in a better direction!!

Hi Rachael, Thanks for sharing your journey. I'm currently going to Caring too and am extremely grateful for their familiarity with my condition. It is so relieving to be understood and so well received. I didn't need to explain anything about EDs, cranial pressure, extreme hyper mobility etc, they see it all day long. I have a question about your low histamine meat source. Did you mention the name of the farm? When I googled I don't think I found the same farm. Thanks so much!

@HealingWithRachael3 жыл бұрын
Hey Michele! I plan to share more on here soon :) If you’d like to follow me on instagram I recently started a another account to share my carnivore/lion journey @ribeyerach , haha! For me, regular keto or paleo didn’t give me improvements. Carnivore and lion certainly have but it’s been very gradual. Definitely hard to transition and adjust but so worth it. When you’ve been really sick for a long time it takes the body a long time to heal. I hope you find relief 💚
@bobblehead7613 жыл бұрын
Good for you for doing the carnivore/lion diet. It's not easy but it can be so rewarding, especially when you have a good enough reason. I did strict keto for 4 years and most recently was doing the carnivore diet but I found that cervical instability and ketosis do not mix well. Ketosis can be considered a stress state on the body and I had to stop stop doing it. Super bummed about that. Have you experienced any negative side effects yet from effects from ketosis?
@HealingWithRachael3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I'm sorry to hear it hasn't worked out for you or that you've had issues with it. It can be so hard to figure out whats best for your body. Actually, I've mostly heard the opposite about ketosis, that it can be very de-stressing and healing for the body. But I'm not an expert! Going carnivore/lion was a really rough transition for me and I didn't start seeing improvements for a few months but I wanted to give it a solid try. Regular keto didn't help much for me. I'm actually not even 100% positive that I'm in ketosis as I don't check. But carnivore/lion has been most beneficial (so far) for me with my severe fatigue crashes and overall functionality. I hope to see more benefits in time :)

@@HealingWithRachael Here's my source, from the guy who wrote a very popular book you may have heard of called Wheat Belly. There's much more info out there if you dig around: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hWq1XnuqqdObr68 Having done keto/carnivore for so many years, it was just an amazing experience for me. Made me feel half my age, especially carnivore. Literally life-changing, almost to the extent of cervical instability. :-) Took me over a year to figure out that ketosis was making my cervical instability symptoms worse. You should test to see if you are in ketosis, I'm sure you are being on essentially a zero carb diet. It's just another good measurement to have. I'm hoping I can get back to it soon enough. I'm getting cervical prolotherapy now but I might have to go see Dr. Hauser depending on the outcome of my current treatment. It's a long, slow process! Best of luck on your journey with Dr. H. and everything, I'm rooting for you!

I'm sorry I'm confused. You say you can't stay upright or move your jaw but you do for the whole video(s)? Or am I not understanding something
@HealingWithRachael2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comment. I never said I couldn't be upright or move my jaw at all! I shared I really struggle to stay upright for any length of time! The video is like 20 minutes long and filmed on different days. I can only be upright for a small amount of time before severe symptoms set in. As for my jaw, it's been locked/dislocated for 4 years. That doesn't mean I can't move it at all. It means I can't move it past about a centimeter open, that's where it's locked. But as I shared in the video, the chiropractor helped me to get more opening than I have in years. Hope that makes sense.

Hi Rachael- I appreciate your videos so much. I’ve been following you for a couple years now and your courage and ability to keep moving forward in hope has sustained me through some of my darkest nights. I found caring medical through a referral from my cranial leak/IIH doc., my first appointment is coming up in early February. Logistics question. My husband is blind so while he can be my companion for the clinic visits we’ll be using an Uber to get to the clinic. I’m wondering if you used a hotel for your first visit and if so was it fairly close to caring medical? I’m having trouble telling what might be close-ish. Also, was there enough time between the morning and afternoon sessions that you could have gone back to rest or should we assume I’ll need to be up. I won’t have a car to rest in hence these questions. Thank you for sharing yourself with us! So grateful. I’m rooting for you!!!!

Hi Michelle, Thank you for your kind message and encouragement! I'm so glad my videos have been helpful in some way. For my evaluation day, we stayed in a hotel right behind Caring Medical called Candlewood Suites Fort Myers-Sanibel Gateway. Depending on your walking ability, it's about 1-2 blocks just to walk there from the hotel. It wasn't a very nice hotel, but it was cheap and very close. I don't know that I'd recommend staying in it for a long period of time, but a few nights would probably be okay. We did have enough time in between appointments for our evaluation to go back and rest on that first day. I hope your first appointment goes very well!
